This team is always better with Z in the lineup. He really has the ability to make everyone around him better.

Missed Z's return to the line-up, so happy to hear he looks like himself. I think Zegras really puts some smiles on the bench as well, so also much needed exuberance.

3 points in 3 games since coming back. Gotta wonder if he’ll just end up being one of those players who is a slow starter offensively. Two seasons in a row now where he starts out slow production wise (despite playing well), gets hurt, and then comes back and starts producing

Firmly in the do not trade camp. It’s a weird phenomenon, but dynamic Z when he’s dialed in rubs off on everyone else, almost forcing everyone else to raise their level of play. They look so much better offensively top to bottom when he’s in the lineup

Do not Trade Z or McTavish unless they really request it.

It’s amazing how the team comes alive offensively when Zegras is in the line up, has even made Carlsson better as well these last couple of games. Will hopefully get him going. Got robbed of a few points last night, both of them did. Z could have easily had a 4 point night with better puck luck.

If Verbeek trades him he should be fired on the spot. Not playing anymore with those rumors.

I think a lot of it has to do with the exuberance @Doothpick stated. He just makes the game feel more fun and loose and I think it rubs off on the team. That type of behavior is needed when you have a hardass like Cronin behind the bench. It was always the same with Getzy and Teemu, they just made the game feel more fun and I think it was a big part of what made the teams they were successful on successful. As they both got older they got more sour, likely due to teams not being as good but they lost that exuberance.

I just get the strange feeling that Zegras is being showcased at wing, the team we might try and be trading with. Might need to see him at wing? I 100% take Cronin for his word, when he said Zegras is a #1 center. So with that, I am guessing this is 100% verbeek asking him to play him at wing. There’s really no other logical explanation . Because Zegras at wing doesn’t help the team, we’re not better with him at wing it’s been clear and obvious. There has to be something yrade related to this.

I don't know how you could possibly say Zegras at wing doesn't help the team. Zegras being back in any capacity helps the team.

Strome/Vatrano/Terry are working well enough to not break up and Leo needs all the time he can get at center so that leaves only the 3C open for Zegras. I think he'd look good there with Cutter but honestly I think the mindset is the more time he spends on the ice, the better, and he will spend more time on the ice playing as a wing right now.

Strome is on trade board list. I agree, we trade strome and do anything possible to bring in a legit top 6 winger.

You missed my point entirely.not saying he hasn’t helped the team these past games on the wing. Zegras is a center, he’s better at center. The fact that we just won’t play him there. Even after Cronin calls him a #1 center. Leaves me to imagine that it’s more than a mere coincidence

As suspicious as Mac playing wing on Leo's line. There really is nothing to it, imo. I do think that Cronin needs to let one of the young C's take Strome's spot though and push Strome to the 3rd line. It's more important to see a 22 or 23 yo C develop than a 32 yo get more points.

Our Young C's need to be with the best wingers. So 2 out of 3 ( Leo, Mac, and Z) need to be at C, imo. If Mac looks better on the wing, keep him there, and if Z looks better at C, keep him there.

They are winning these games here and there on excellent goaltending, not scoring or even defending. I'd rather they focus on offense, but Cronin is not going to do that.
