Zegras 3rd
Even without the 3rd that’s not really close

Zegras has been arguably our best forward this year…. And has made changes in his game to be a more complete player…. Not a situation where we’d be selling low..

Bruins just don’t have the pieces to make it work

7pts in last 6 games now. Tied for 3rd in points and goals on the team. Tied for 4th in Assists.

I won’t be surprised if he catches up to Terry before Christmas.

Also on pace for 32 penalty min for the season which is the lowest pace he’s had in his career.

Hopefully that Zegras thread on the main board stays quiet and doesn’t get bumped all season and then we dance on all the haters graves when it’s over. We warned them exactly what was going to happen.
There is a world(not a likely one mind you) where the ducks magically play like last night against the kraken all season.

In that world a wild card bid is not out of the question…
Can you imagine Z wearing a letter(A) in the playoffs after leading the team in scoring. Boy would I love to staple that image on the main forum to make the crazies elsewhere remember/realize he ain’t for sale like some beat up used toy at a garage sale worth lindell.

A fan can dream

I’m just worried about TheNumber4 from the main boards. He’s probably sitting in the corner rocking back and forth thinking of Zs celly.

Thought this was interesting:

A reporter asking questions that are relevant to current rumors about the team/player? Eric Stephens is clutching his pearls.

Now maybe its a southern thing, but "living the dream" and "bless your heart" do not mean when you think they mean here lol. Wish it was a video so we could see his face when he said it lol.

That’s kind of what I thought too but the reporter clarified it in a response tweet. It also helps contextualize things to remember that as an nhler he actually does have a dream job lol

FWIW

I get why people get on Stevens, but at least he used to provide some interesting long form stuff before they gave him extra teams to cover. The only extra Cavanagh and Andrew Knoll ever seem to do is damage control when something negative comes out about Cronin. It's a bit distasteful, especially after 32 Thoughts managed to give actual insight on the situation. (Cavanagh's a lot better than Knoll to be fair, at least his practice and game coverage are pretty thorough.) There's a segment of Twitter and I assume other platforms that's basically treating the "o noes Zegras didn't smile" sideshow as some definitive gotcha where if Zegras is having fun, that means there's nothing whatsoever wrong with Cronin's coaching. This feels like it's mostly just meant to feed into that drama.

To be clear, I don't think Zegras was lying here or anything. I just think it's a silly question, nobody's gonna say no (especially asking it two weeks after Smilegate when things are on the upswing). Though honestly, if a reporter put out "I asked Zegras if he's having fun and he said no, he actually really hates playing hockey" I'd assume he said it while barely maintaining a straight face. This is the guy who recently said LeBron James is his favorite Thanksgiving dish.
