Curious as well, he wasn't a big offensive guy for most of his life then last year as a (double?) overager he blew up for 100 points in a lower level league and is now over a PPG early into his NCAA career. Very curious to see how he projects.
I looked at the last 10 years or so of the top scorers in OJHL. Every year there was 1 or 2 players that were drafted or signed by an NHL club at some point, and basically everyone topped as average AHL player, and a lot of them did a lot worse. Looking at stats only, we shouldnt expect much based on those OJHL numbers, but maybe he's the exception to the rule. And a good start in NCAA is a positive.

Andy Reist - Stats, Contract, Salary & More had a good OJHL season last year as well, teammates of Hoskin. Same age, and plays for Niagara but only 0+3 so far. His production seems to be more in line of what could be expected, so Hoskin is probably doing a lot better in NCAA that would have been expected, again based on stats only.
