News Article: Trevor Hoskin (4th Round, 106th Overall)

Hometown boy.makes good. I grew up in Belleville and the surounding area and knew some Hoskins. I wonder if he's related.

Is the op link the wrong one? I think it's for Liang?

You have to keep scrolling down once you open the link as there are three stories attached to the link. Lots of the same ads too. The first story is about Laing, the 2nd is about Misa, and the 3rd and final story is about Hoskins.

my bad, it's fixed
So he's a overager RW? Cool cool. Looking forward to see what he can do. It's nice being able to cheer all draft picks vs sometimes writing them off as soon as they're picked. :)

Some places have him as a C, iirc on EP they just have forward

11 points in 9 games, currently 12th in NCAA scoring. Anyone have any insight about his play?

Curious as well, he wasn't a big offensive guy for most of his life then last year as a (double?) overager he blew up for 100 points in a lower level league and is now over a PPG early into his NCAA career. Very curious to see how he projects.

I looked at the last 10 years or so of the top scorers in OJHL. Every year there was 1 or 2 players that were drafted or signed by an NHL club at some point, and basically everyone topped as average AHL player, and a lot of them did a lot worse. Looking at stats only, we shouldnt expect much based on those OJHL numbers, but maybe he's the exception to the rule. And a good start in NCAA is a positive.

this guy Andy Reist - Stats, Contract, Salary & More had a good OJHL season last year as well, teammates of Hoskin. Same age, and plays for Niagara but only 0+3 so far. His production seems to be more in line of what could be expected, so Hoskin is probably doing a lot better in NCAA that would have been expected, again based on stats only.
