Sabres will give you Cozens, but you also gotta trade for Anders Bjork and play him for at least 82 games. Repayment, for having given him to us and making us watch that.

I won't sit here and pretend I loved Anders Bjork. He was fine at best. With that said, the Sabres fans who have shown so much hostility towards him surprise me. How much did he regress? With all the shit Buffalo fans have dealt with the past 12-13 years, more than a couple of them have made an effort to point out to me how bad Anders Bjork was

Edmonton's pretty interested in Frederic too. Our Oilers Entertainment Group approved mouthpiece, Bob Stauffer, has been talking about Frederic for weeks.

I like the fit a lot for Edmonton as someone who doesn't watch the team all that often (so I'm just looking at dailyfaceoff). If you want a middle 6 winger, he can fill in. If you want a 3C to push Nuge up to the top 6 and Henrique down, he can fill in. He just doesn't have the foot speed to keep up with McDavid but I doubt that would be the plan in the first place.

Of course he hasn't had the best year so it'd be a bit of a gamble hoping he'd pick up on his production.

I could see the Flyers being interested, given their dearth of centres and Briere's recent statement as an STH gathering that size will be an emphasis going forward. I'm not thrilled with the idea; just saying that I would be surprised if they didn't check in on the price.

I think Bjork just sorta embodied some of those failures over the past 15 years- he was a tweener who maybe showed some potential/competence in a decent system, but without said system he just looked lost. Nothin he did was above average at the nhl level except for speed, maybe, but his hockey sense meant he was often going the wrong way quickly. The deal itself added to the pain- we wanted as much as we could get for the disappointing Taylor Hall, and if a 2nd was the best we could do, ok. But then we had to add in a perfectly competent 4C in lazar to get Bjork, the idea being maybe he’s good and that extra year is a positive- but no, it just means we’re stuck with a bad player for more time. We coulda re-signed Lazar or lost him, no biggie either way, but instead we forced ourselves into having a bad roster player for another season.

And that’s hopefully the last time I gotta think about Bjork. Had to get that out though, it ain’t Bjork’s fault.
