  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

These snipes at Gregor ever since the Lucic debacle still make me howl  .
I will never miss an opportunity to laugh at or shit on Gregor. The guy is a f***ing troll and he thinks because he has a microphone and a diploma from NAIT that he's a f***ing genius.

This is the same prick that played Brass Bonanza the day after the Oil lost the Cup in 2006 just to troll the city. He's a f***ing loser. Never seen someone so cocky and arrogant for absolutely no reason. Mediocre interview skills and thinks he's right in every situation ever. Continuing to defend Skinner this year, saying Tanev wasn't an improvement on Ceci, Lucic won't be traded, etc. He is almost always wrong and has less than zero credibility. He raises some money for charity so everyone gives him a pass but he's awful.

Oilers with the 4D chess move of trading for players not even healthy, and not even able to go. Meanwhile we forcefeed Jones into the NHL despite him being not ready and outside of first game being nothing, and Frederic still can't play. We needed help physically, Jones did that in first game but clear dropoff. Nobody but Perry even fights on the team now. Guys like Pods forgot why they are even here.

With our luck Frederick will have a setback and not even play a playoff game for us.

Trading for an injured rental is ridiculous, unless it’s a steal.. which it wasn’t.

Podz has become a bit complacent imo. He looked better last night but I feel like he forgot he was a pube hair away from being out of the NHL.

Said it before, and its something learned painfully through the Russian plays we've had. When their scoring drops off I think its a huge gut punch to their whole game. Russian forwards generally view themselves as uber talented. When they got the scoring mojo going on is when they are best overall as a player. To Russian forwards I've seen it seems when that well dries up the player eventually does. You don't get this snakebit as an NHL forward for this long without serious doubts creeping in and without it impacting rest of play. Pods is a ghost out there some games. Sure hes' getting in on some forechecks, making some hits, even the occasional play but botching scoring chances constantly, he must be dying inside. He looks like somebody with a 10000 yd stare. Its killing the hockey in him.

Probably a great kid, and I know he's trying. That ain't enough at this level. The fluke goal going in here or there didn't help either. The player has to feel he has something, that he's able to beat NHL goalies. Pods doesn't feel any of that.

In what world are the blues a young team?
In a world where you compare them to the Oilers.

A good chunk of their best talent is still young or relatively young. Neighbours, Kyro, Holloway, Bolduc, Broberg, Thomas, Toropchenko. That's a decent core.

If Jones isn't ready at 27yo, he never will be. Idk what this "forcefeed" narrative your running with is, but it was a tryout for a player we acquired.

He's a fourth line plug with all of the tools of a power forward, but no hockey sense. That said, there's no reason he can't stand out the way Klim Kostin did.

I'm not advocating for or against Max Jones. I'm just befuddled at how someone thinks trying out a 27yo TDL addition for 4 games is forcefeeding them. He got an extended tryout because in his first 2 games (17mins total icetime) he got a point and 8 hits. That earns you more games, and with those he showed us he is probably just a depth guy. Hardly some egregious error by the club, I'd be more pissed if knob scratched him after his first 2 games.

Whatever. Its the team getting junk fill players in the same season they lost several prospects/valid players., just let them walk.

The org now basically desperate to fill holes in forward lineup that they created themselves. All of Caggiulia, lol, Old Derek Ryan, Philps, Savard fed into the wood chipper so far, from an org just trying to find a pulse somewhere. Would be hilarious if it wasn't the team I cheer for.

Really think about this org. Getting Drake Caggiulia back was gonna fill a hole? All this org is good at is selling tickets.

The egregious error was the offseason. So that as a fan I'm having to watch the club now grab any dreck they can because the org is still as bad as under Chiarelli.

Following this org reminds of time being a flat circle. Endless management f***ups and often of the same variety. Jones isn't the disease, nothing against him personally, but I have issue with the org losing good players and replacing with pretenders.

So he’s out additional weeks, what a dumb trade this is turning out to be for a guy who was this injured and is unlikely to even play for us this year

We moved out playoff failure, invisible useless plugs who dragged us down when it mattered most in McLeod and Foegele .... the sad state of affairs when I'd kill to have them back in place of the people we brought in.

We are the oldest, and likely slowest team overall in the league. Our defence group is looking pretty good at the moment, and I liked the addition of Walman.

However when you see every single player regressed from last year (as predicted), you add in Draisaitl + McDavid + Bouchard contracts coming into play soon...you realize the window is at its end point.

We still have no depth scoring and no goaltending, and the realistic window peaked last year. Each year it will dwindle into McDavid's mid 30's. I can only think of one superstar player who won their first cup that late (Ovechkin).

Unless we pull of a miracle, it's not looking good. How do you even begin to tend to this mess? We have ZERO notable prospects in the pool coming in to provide cheap contract scoring depth and energy. We gave our pick away for Walman.

There's no players coming to save the day. I love Frederic as a player and hopefully he can step in and make an impact in the playoffs...same with Evander, but realistically what are the odds of them coming in and blowing the doors off fresh off IR?

Stuart Skinner in nets and it's hard to be positive right now. We're treading water off the backs of McDrai as always. Last year it was almost enough with the best performance from a player in playoff history. I don't see that being replicated, so where are we making up all of the offence?

Sorry for the ramble...for those of us willing to look at this objectively, comparatively to what our competitors added like Florida and Colorado and Dallas...and the roster a year or two out...how do you find hope?

Not to mention said player was having a terrible year. I think Bowman missed out on Rantanen and then got desperate trying to bring in any player with a pulse (even injured ones)

I actually don't mind the player in a vaccuum but this is just getting pathetic at this point. He might play less than 10 games for us for a 2nd round pick. Just another reason to be on the fire Jackson/fire Bowman train. Watch us double down and overpay him with some 3x3 deal and keep eating away at the team with our inability to recognize the sunk cost fallacy. See also: Adam Henrique.

Frederic trade was days before the Rantanen one. They brought in a guy they liked, for a lower than expected cost due to injury, and if he fits they value the inside track on getting him signed.

Henrique was like 34 when we signed him. Frederic will be 27. Completely different situations.

We desperately need a player like Frederic and, while it was a risk to trade for an injured player, I still like the gamble. He’s also 27, so if we are able to re-sign him it would be a good thing (so long as a reasonable cap hit), not some desperate grab of a player on his last legs.
