If he's capable of keeping that intensity without fighting every game of course he definitely could be the building block of a great third line. I'd like to see Frederic-Zacha-Wahlstrom

Pretty fantastic showing by Freddy last night. He and Poitras just click, I mentioned it before and he seemed genuinely shocked that pass landed on his stick. Then, UP 4-0, instead of keeping the emotions in check, seeks Lilleberg out and tunes his ass. Games like this make you petrified to trade this guy
Either way. Trade or Retain, Fred is finally helping the team.

My biggest problem (and I assume many feel the same) is consistency. I know there are very, very few players who "bring it" every night. Most players have a "range" of intensity/effectiveness, etc.

The problem with Frederic seems to be that the gap between his "peak" and his "baseline" so to speak is pretty significant in both effectiveness and volume.

Meaning; when he's on, he's really, really good -- when he's not, he doesn't add a whole lot --- but he's also not "on" far too often. (Especially this year).

I really hope he can find a way to play closer to "peak" more often because that guy is extremely valuable!

Yeah it is very unrealistic to expect an A game every night, especially when you hit and fight, but I do agree, more effort and less go through the motions when you don't have that A game. Seems like the team really wanted to pick up the slack from Kastelic being out and boy did they. The past two games were two of the most enjoyable regular season games in awhile.

Coyle - Freddie
Kastelic - Koepke

Build Bottom 6 around these 4
I never understood the love for Koepke and I think building something around Coyle would be him playing somewhere else next season.

Kastelic is a gem Unfortunately Freddy will be somewhere else as well next season I'm afraid.

Don't think the B's are going to pay him 4x3

He’s young though and they been chasing a pot of gold at expense of draft picks

The sweet spots are 7-8 and not trading firsts for rentals

there was a study done on pitching where 4 seam fastballs have the highest slugging percentage against

But spin pitches don’t

Pitchers used only 4 seam to exert max velocity but increased spin rate which puts more pressure on arm / shoulder / elbow etc

Well, I did a study and rentals are bad for long term success

Anyone can beat anyone in an NHL playoffs and a 7-8 seed goes in without white hot pressure

Frederic is a really good third liner who can play all over the line

I’d try and retain him with the understanding at different points people are going to love him and not

Coyle & Frederic are a very good duo on the third line

poitras looked very good with 13 and 11 Game changer.
I watched him every shift like my kid

I like the neck guard look

He’s freaking really smart

That was a heck of a line

The problem with getting rid of Frederic we aren’t exactly Buffalo or Montreal - or even Toronto with similar type players to replace
