Hell baby
Somebody posted his dance card recently, he ain’t much of a spot picker imo

Sure that last guy was way out of his weight class but beyond that he apparently challenged Stanley earlier that night and Stanley is huge. The majority of the rest of his dance card are legit tough guys (outside of that dude who he rightfully sent to the quiet room for running Bergeron)

Happens all the time. Duck one heavy or dummy one non-fighter and anybody looking for a reason to pounce will label you a spot picker. Jesus, Habs fans labeled Looch a spot picker for ducking Laraque and he fought every heavy there was.

Freddy fought Wilson twice and held his own when nobody else on the team would even look at little Willy sideways. That's good enough for me.

I love you @DKH but if you slag off The Planet again, you and I will have to meet in the parking lot and throw down.

Big Al -- for oh so many reasons -- is off of the table. Last warning.
Wait? I’m the worlds biggest Al Iafrate fan.

Didn’t the Bruins trade him for Odgers?

When Iafrate left for basically a vampire sandwich in Odgers I realized the Bruins were heading to trash

I remember the Odgers year. I think we also had Troy Mallet, Kevin Sawyer, Rick Tocchet, Dean Chynoweth, Dean Malkoc, Davis Payne and Steve Staios. Terrible team, but nobody took any poo.

I think the next year they were all basically replaced by Ken Baumgartner and Kenny Belanger. I think the great Marty McSorley was added later in the season. We had some tough teams in the mid to late 90s.

Charlie Coyle is about to get the Chris Kelly treatment unless he starts to produce.
They're going to make him coach?

Tickets were cheap that year and you could sit just about anywhere - easy access and entertaining team if you didn't care much about winning

OK, all is well with the world. I was guilty of being massively trigger fingered.

However, as a fellow fan of The Planet, I know you understand. As soon as you even get a tingle of sense that trouble brewing -- even if you've interpreted things wrongly -- you defend boldly and ask questions later. Always.

You and I are all good, Dan. But that was a close one..........

King Mullet is in rarified air -- and his honor must be put at a premium. Even more than points.

I wonder what a Fredric-Carlo package can get you. I have enjoyed both guys but feel like it’s time to move on from them. Would have to get a little creative to fill the Carlo hole on D. I was hoping Regula would get a look. Oh well.

I'd like to see these lines during the roster freeze...

Geekie - Zacha - Pastrnak
March - Lindholm - Coyle
Freddy - Poitras - Brazeau
Koepke - Kastelic - McLovin

I'm not doing a victory lap at all. If you recall, I erroneously called him scoring 20 this year in a response to you directly before the season started in this very thread. So him playing this poorly shows you what I know...LOFL
Right, I also remember your overall opinion of Freddy the past few years, one post isn't changing that fact that you don't like him and love to show it when he's playing poorly

That would mean that you’re not playing Wahlstrom, and you’re either cutting Tyler Johnson or waiving (and almost certainly losing) Beecher.

I really doubt they’re cutting Johnson a week before Christmas.

This is just conjecture and you putting an opinion on me because you dislike that I'm honest with my take. When he plays like shit, I say it. If and when he does something positive, I say it. There's no rooting against the guy because him playing well benefits the team I want to win.

For example, Marchand is my favorite player and has been for years. I still said he played like shit at the start of the year and is on the backside of his career at this point. Why? Because I hate him? No, because I'm simply being honest with my assessment. No hate, No agenda.

Now all that being said, it was fun to laugh at how quickly the Freddy on pace for 20 tracking folks stopped once he slumped badly last year year. But that's not rooting against Freddy. That's rooting against people being pompous asshats.

And if I'm being fair about Freddy, I think he does some really stupid f***ing things on the ice. If he stopped, I'd probably ignore most of his errors. But when you make yourself a focus and then do something that hurts the team, again, I'll call that what it is.

I was going to put him in for McLaughlin but you can't sit Mac after 2 goals in 2 games.

Somebody will eventually have to go down to make room for Poitras, at some point.
I wouldn't be so sure they bring him back up anytime soon. If the new guy plays well I think it will take even longer.

Not sure how long Coyle will be on the wing

Not going to argue over Freddy at this point or change anyone's mind but I have to ask, what are these stupid fing thing you talk about? And when did he hurt the team?

Dumb penalties at bad spots. The engaging with a Wilson and having him take it out on Carlo is a good example because Carlo ended up getting hurt. Starting with and then tuning up that non fighter dude last week instead of taking the loss like a man. He does a lot of mind boggling little things. Ripping the helmet off that dude in a scrum that ended with him getting tossed, etc

Al Iafrate for the months of March & April 1994 put on a show few have ever

His series against the Canadiens was legendary

I know it was on NESN and there’s likely complete video but it was about a decade before the explosion of social media

If this 60 days or more importantly the Canadians 7 game series happened in the last 10-15 years he would be talked about like a Boston hockey god

That 2 months should have placed him on top 100 Centennial team

He in believe scored multiple game winners c Montreal in games 6 & 7 and one mind-blowing shift knocked all 3 Canadians forwards on their ass with thunderous checks

Legend

One of greatest times in Boston hockey I ever witnessed - old Garden, Bruins & Montreal hate in full force - Al ‘the Planet’ Iafrate stole the show
