Huh? I think you have things confused because my issue isn't discussing the players but rather some folks incessant need to take a premature victory lap based on a small sample. In the case of Korpi, it's been what 9 starts? In terms of Freddy, he's played 29 but people want to ignore the totality of his performance in favor of the last couple of weeks, Which is again, a small sample size.

Total ice time is the same order of magnitude, friend. You're choosing "games" as the measure. I'm choosing time they are playing NHL hockey.

Somehow for you, it's a sufficient amount of minutes for one, but not the other.

I think Ty Anderson mentioned it originally, but if you can still get a similar-ish Jeannot original trade haul for Freddy and hes not in your future plans- You definitely need to consider it.

Not sure he brings in a pick from like every single round of the draft like Jeannot, but I still think he has decent value, Maybe I need to take my Bruins glasses off though.

I know I am totally against seeing him walk for nothing though.

Nah, you’re splitting hairs trying to find an excuse.

So let’s cut to the chase. Has Freddy looked good to you this season? Has he played up to or above expectations?

Regardless of whether you’re talking games or toi, all I need is a yes or no from you.

And their weights?

O'Brien is listed at 213. 7 pounds less than Freddy. Jeannot is 208. Anderson is 218. Andreas Englund is 189. Trouba is 212. Goodrow is 202. Lemiux is 215, Mike Folingo is 195. Lane Pedersen is 192. Literally all the guys you mentioned as "big heavyweights" are dudes that weigh less than Freddy. And most of them by quite a lot.

While you like to make these claims, your assertations are certainly not backed up by the data.

He's a spot picker that typically goes after far smaller dudes. If he were on another team, you'd all universally loathe him for this type of bush league bullshit,

Mike Foligno? I think you mean his son Marcus, who's 226. Tanner Jeannot is listed at 220. Josh Anderson is 226. Some of the other weights you listed are wrong as well. Hockeydb is usually more current with the current players and wildly inaccurate with older retired players.

Also, weights go up and down all the time. For example, after Freddy broke into the league, they asked him to cut down on his weight. When he fought Lemieux, Freddy was 210. 220 is the most listed weight ive seen Frederic play at in his career, where hes normally 215 at the start of the year. I'd say most of these guys in this list are in Freddy's weight class with some of them being more experienced fighters who fight the heavies of the league ( Anderson, OBrien, Jeannot, Foligno ).

So it's funny to me how everyone here universally rejects the weights published on hockey reference when talking about the guys Freddy has fought. Saying shit like those guys weigh 15-20 LBS more than on that site. Yet you all readily accept Freddy is the 220 listed on there? If the site has it wrong for all his opponents and is off by 20 lbs, wouldn't it also be off for him?

But regardless, was his "fight" the other night against a heavy weight that fights other top heavies? Yes or no?

The team's official pages via NHL.com is where hockeydb sources most of the current players from. Sometimes they're a season behind, but most of the players are sourced at the start of camp when the team releases the info. HockeyRef is great for stats but can be several seasons behind in some cases in listed height and weight. Using the official team pages as a cross reference and going by your list player for player, hockeyDB is more accurate than hockeyRef and your listed data is wrong.

Why didn’t Viel’s fight fire the team up. Why didn’t any of the fights last night fire the team up?

Do you want to know why Viel's fight didn't fire the team up? Because no one on that bench give two shits about Jeffrey Viel. And why would they? There is no friendship or relationship there between Viel and the rest of the Bruins. New signing who missed all of camp and was just recalled from the minors. A guy called up to compete for ice with the rest of them. The Bruins players had no emotional connection to Jeffrey Viel at that point on his first shift in the NHL and they shouldn't. Just because he gets to throw on a Bruins jersey doesn't make him part of the group right off the hop.

You've been giving him a free pass for years, jumping in any time even a single negative thing is posted about your boy Trent, defending him ad nauseum.

I've defended him in the past too but this season is tough to watch from him. You can say that about a lot of our guys but Trent has had one of the more disappointing seasons on the team until very recently.

Again you have Freddy syndrome and nothing I can say will change your mind so I will move on.

People will never give Fred any credit. They don't like him and that's fine but it is bizarre.

Give him credit for what exactly? What have you pointed out that would make me change my feelings about this player? My comments about his dirty hits on Perunovich and Chibrikov were completely ignored. I posted the video which clearly showed Frederic's tantrum starting the altercation. Also ignored. This isn't new I've been critical of this player for years. I ignored his bullshit when my Bruins are winning consistently, but when they are losing and losing miserably, his bullshit just becomes annoying.

You want to change the argument and avoid the question, which I get. Instead of answering whether or not Gustafsson is a heavyweight that fights regularly, you want to nitpick over which site has more accurate weights, but it doesn't change the fact that Freddy fought a dude with no NHL fights in his career in a pathetic display of douchebaggery.

It was gutless. It was sad. It was on brand for this guy. He's a loser.

See to a degree I can tolerate his inconsistent performance. He is what he is, an inconsistent forward who can play all 3 forward positions and on a contending team should be slotted somewhere between your 9th and 10th best forward, a 4th liner on a really deep team, a 3rd liner on a moderately deep team. He doesn't make much money so for 2 million a year I can deal with his inconsistent play.

It's the school-yard bully bull-shit that really gets on my nerves. Hurts the team on the ice and hurts the reputation off of it. Tuesday night was an embarrassment for this franchise and him fighting Gustafsson was the icing on the cake.

Changing the argument? Lol. I didn't " answer " because that wasn't my argument, that was yours. I don't have a dog in that fight. I'm correcting your listed weights. Saying Freddy weighs more and is spot picking on all these guys when that's not true from both a weight and experience perspective for most of those guys you listed. There's definatley instances where Freddy gets an easy target, never tried to argue against that.

Fair enough.

Since it's kind of the topic du jour, what were your thoughts on his "fight" with Guftasson the other night?

For a 1st round pick, he's a bust (IMHO). Trade him for whatever you can get.

I'm not sure this is allowed, but I want to steer this in a different direction:

What is the most you extend him for?
Depends on what they'd want his role to be. I wouldn't pay him to be a guy they're counting on to be a top 6 player who could score 20 because he's not that and never has been. If he'd take a $2.5 x 3 deal, I'd be okay with him as their third line player, provided he cut out the circus bullshit and simply played a physical game.

But before they even thought of bring him back, I'd want them to address the top six holes.

Fair? Unfair?

You will be disappointed if you think he would sign that deal. He will get 3.5-4M x3 on the open market, maybe even more.

Big, hits, fights, scores 15-20 goals even though he gets no PP time. He's trending up and is only 26yo.

He's the modern day power forward.

Ok kill me now lol

3x3 for me. Thats it. I offer before TDL.
He signs, he stays. He says no, he goes.
That's in the range if he stays but I don't think he does. He will make more elsewhere
