It was mentioned already but there is no way to stop the new GM with already speaking with the amateur scouts before draft day and sharing any insights that Calgary staff have on certain players and coming up with a consensus on specific draft eligible players.
Its for optics only to say that the new GM is unable to participate on draft day.
