I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert on coaches, but its pretty surprising he's the first of the long list of experienced HC's available to be hired.
ootl, what's so bad about Green ?
It’s genuinely frustrating how many f***ing lucky breaks the Devils get as an organization. He took over the Devils team from Ruff. Got better goaltending from the trade deadline and had healthier players. Managed to have a worse record than Ruff.
Never changed anything with the transition. played the same system that wasn't working well. He was the power play guy all year and after teams adjusted to them past the first 10 games, was league worst. Again, never made adjustments. Just kept throwing out the same thing even after every other team has scouted it and countered it.
I'll do anything you ask me to do.What the f*** did this guy even say in the interview?
Hmm, maybe letting the owner's buddy become GM wasn't the best idea.Great start for Staios

Second. Buffalo hired Ruff already. Interesting both NJ coaching candidates go off the board so quick after such a disappointing seasonI'm not going to pretend I'm an expert on coaches, but its pretty surprising he's the first of the long list of experienced HC's available to be hired.
At least Ruff has won recently.Second. Buffalo hired Ruff already. Interesting both NJ coaching candidates go off the board so quick after such a disappointing season

Travis Green's record speaks for itself.Far from who I would pick, but its really funny seeing people delude themselves into thinking they know a) what makes a good coach and b) which guys do or dont have those qualities.
Not saying no one does, but it takes a lot of info and knowledge to actually evaluate. And I have seen some of the most knowledgeable, connected people on these boards say that they aren't qualified to comment.
He made the playoffs, which is like beyond what I can imagine hapening to the Sens anytime soon, especially with Travis Green.what has he won now?
what has he won now?
Do you realize how superficial that analysis is?Travis Green's record speaks for itself.
He's been a disaster in both Vancouver and in Jersey
