ootl, what's so bad about Green ?

He took over the Devils team from Ruff. Got better goaltending from the trade deadline and had healthier players. Managed to have a worse record than Ruff.

Never changed anything with the transition. played the same system that wasn't working well. He was the power play guy all year and after teams adjusted to them past the first 10 games, was league worst. Again, never made adjustments. Just kept throwing out the same thing even after every other team has scouted it and countered it.

It’s genuinely frustrating how many f***ing lucky breaks the Devils get as an organization.

Far from who I would pick, but its really funny seeing people delude themselves into thinking they know a) what makes a good coach and b) which guys do or dont have those qualities.

Not saying no one does, but it takes a lot of info and knowledge to actually evaluate. And I have seen some of the most knowledgeable, connected people on these boards say that they aren't qualified to comment.
Travis Green's record speaks for itself.

He's been a disaster in both Vancouver and in Jersey

Do you realize how superficial that analysis is?

Rick Bowness had an atrocious record in his first decade in the league, so did Martin, Vigneault's stint in Montréal was terrible, Hynes had an awful record in NJ, Cassidy crapped out in year 2 in Washington, Tocchet struggled in Tampa and Arizona...

Happens all the time.
