Cooley has always been a gym rat but he looks like he definitely made some gains this offseason.
Meanwhile, Schmaltz still looks like he did his 20 minutes on the elliptical.

Going to be here a lot this year rooting for Lutz. I know he'll probably never be more than a third liner, but hoping he gets there and takes the role by storm.
He's definitely got the skill to be higher (think JJ Paterka possibilities), it will all depend if Lutz can find is offensive game like Paterka.

This is my hope. I got my (German) girlfriend into Hockey by constantly parading around the good germans in the league, so would be fun to get her to drive up to SLC with me haha.

Hope you guys have a fun inaugural season.

What are the Utah fans opinion of Kesselring? I never knew of him and I saw last year's stats and they were kind of impressive for a 3rd pair guy not playing on the PP. Is he pretty much a lock for the roster? And do you believe he can reproduce a 30 pts season (if he plays 82 games)?

Opinions are split on Kesselring.
He's big and skates well and shoots right, which is enough to make me a fan. His defense and physicality are areas of development. His speed and skill when he joins the rush are what make him standout to me above other 3rd pairing guys.
I do believe he's a lock for the roster and has a starting role at 3RD.

I am a fan. Good on the offense, needs to play better defensively. Can be sand papery. Takes some bonehead penalties. I hope he improves and stays. 30 points…. thats a stretch perhaps

Last season the Coyote's D sucked and his ice time benefited from the ex-Coyotes that aren't with the franchise anymore. His ice time will be reduced (it may not be by a lot?) but he may be able to take advantage of the expected increase in offensive production this season.

Those top 3 D-pair look like the opening night and bottom 3 D-par headed to Tucson (with maybe 1 held back)
