Haven't seen any team teal weigh-ins.

Celebrini has surpassed even our fans' lofty expectations through camp and one preseason game. We're stoked.

Cagnoni continues to surprise people -- there are a lot of fan detractors just because the deck is stacked against a 5'9" LD making the NHL, but he looked like a PP1 QB in a preseason game as a 19 year old. Lots of us hoping he makes it to the AHL and marinates some more.

Nobody else is standing out in any way that (imho) warrants mentioning on a thread like this.

Would like to throw a shout in for Jett Luchanko for the Flyers. A heavily criticized pick, but he has been absolutely outstanding through the rookie games and his first pre-season game where he picked up 2 assists and was all over the place, creating.

Even the beats are commenting on how he could potentially enter the Flyers line-up right now as a 3C as an 18 year old. His speed, passing and IQ are very noticeable, and he's an awesome PKer, even competing with Michkov as the best player so far in camp (with some even saying he's outshone him). Plus, he's a year younger.

He definitely pops, and is a good kid so great (potential) pick by the Flyers, after much criticism. Will probably get sent down still but he's had a great showing.
I watched Philly vs Washington yesterday. I tought Bobby Brink was the best player on the ice

As a Jets fan, really excited to see how Hutson can utilize Laine on the powerplay. In Winnipeg every pass to him on the powerplay was telegraphed and that was already enough a lot of the time. Feel like Hutson is deceptive enough to open Laine up a bit more and has the passing to hit his wheelhouse.

Weegartown
Grushnikov, Brzustewicz, Coronato, all look like they want NHL jobs based on the prospect tourney + preseason.
Vote Adam Klapka for 4RW.
Honzek has been impressive, his size and skating makes me believe he has a NHL 100+ games floor.

The Ducks barred fans from live streaming their training camp sessions so I can only go off of what others have said and the rookie tournament:

you gotta be a special kind of freak to live stream training camp sessions

Richard is one of the fastest skater out there and Anderson got him in a bad position with his play.
Never heard of him but yeah he looked quick. I imagine a lot of nhl players are pretty quick, too. I only caught a few min of the game (flyers barely played any regulars or top prospects) and that moment stood out

Hutson defensive weakness flashed last night when he got burned on a 1v1 rush and took a penalty
He was burned because Josh Anderson lost the puck with an awful pass along the board to a Flyers player and of course Lane Hutson is not a strong skater like Richard.... who by the way was your best player on the ice yesterday. Don't you guys have any prospect outside of Michkov?????

Still he was still better then anyone on that Flyers team who is seriously a depressing team to watch without any young talent outide of Michkov.....

Hutson isn't fast, and that is his main weakness IMO (with his size). Richard is probably one of the fastest player in the AHL/NHL, guy is a rocket.

However to come in this thread and say Hutson was a standout in a bad way after watching that game is really funny.

Hutson was the best player on the ice for both team, and got the 1st star of the game, deservedly so. Dominant performance for a 20 y old. I'd not say he was bad defensively at all just because he got burned by Richard.

Hutson was awesome last night, but I think it's also fair to call out some of his weaknesses as well. He's very likely going to be a high event player for both teams, but IMO his offensive gifts will far outweigh his defensive shortcomings, like we saw last night.

His strength and transition skating should improve as well, to the point where he can probably get close to being average defensive player, while being a top 15 offensive dman.

I agree that he has a very high ceiling, but still need to work on things.

I was just finding it funny a poster came in this thread to point out Lane Hutson stood out negatively in this particular game.

Hutson's problem is his backwards skating.

He got burned a few time last night because his backwards skating is not up to par, and his pivots from backwards to forward skating are a little awkward too.

Hutson is a special offensive talent, but I'm not sure that in the long run he'll be able to play regularly as a defenseman in the NHL

If I noticed this glaring weakness about his skating you can be sure that NHL coaches are gonna notice it too and exploit it.

Hutson is too much of an extraordinary offensive talent to not play in the NHL.

But maybe him being used as a hybrid LW/7th defenseman/PP specialist would be a solution?

He has good skating agility, but he skates more like a forward than a defenseman.

I’m not a flyers fan but here is a little reminder for you:

Montreal selected 5th overall in 2024 and 2023. And they had 1st overall in 2022.

Flyers selected 13th overall in 2024, 7th overall in 2023, and 5th overall in 2022.

It’s easier to have young talent when your team sucks.

Well, I mean, MTL iced their best prospects plus NHL regulars and the flyers iced an ECHL squad, so...

I agree that he has a very high ceiling, but still need to work on things.

I think it a good counterpoint/observation to the "Hutson for calder" talk.

It was a split squad for the Habs. I expect the lineup today to be better because of the Suzuki line
