Hopefully that's the case. Talbot has show he's ready for the regular season to start, and Koskinen needs more time to work off the rust.

Completely agree.
Its been great seeing Talbot this dialed in and Koskinen has been getting better each game.
The big ice should bring Koskinen some additional comfort as well.

T-Mac says at least Koskinen is going to start. (link below) Originally when i heard it, i interpreted it as he was getting the whole game and then they would decide for Saturday's opener.

Good stuff...thanks. :thumbu:

Cory Perry is out with longterm knee injury. For most of season so Ducks would be desperate for anybody that could even look like a topsix player. I agree Ducks are declining. But they've surprised before. They are typically hard working in reg season. They usually find some way to get into post season.

Those damn Cali teams just won't die. All of the Sharks, Kings and Ducks have all been considered widely 'too old' and 'on the decline' in the past only to rebound just fine. I wouldn't count out the Ducks just yet, as much as I hate them.

Yes, but I'll believe things when I see them..it is the Oilers afterall

Currently a new coaching staff and we have 5 LHS on the #1 pp and JP is still circling the middle on unit 2

Meanwhile Elias Petterson is clapping away opportunities from his sweetspot in Vancouver

I saw Nurse play his best game as a professional player this preseason. In Yawney we trust!

Makes perfect sense to me to start Koskinen on the big ice then Talbot for game 1. Not a real fan of having any games on the big ice, hope it doesn't throw anyone off for the first real game.

I agree.
It really does seem to make a difference....I am surprised the NHL didnt make sure that all the NHL games were on NHL regulation ice.
I guess this being an exhibition game it was less of a priority.

Reducing the width would leave a significant gap between the front row and the boards which wouldn't be that great for fans attending the game. I'm sure the NHL was more concerned about having a game in the largest arena (18,500 capacity) outside North America, with the Leon tie in hopefully drawing more interest for the game. The game sold out in 5 minutes so mission accomplished.

For the Wednesday game in Germany?
I heard it was on the big ice but I hope you are right.

Aside from Wednesdays game I am quite sure the game in Sweden is on regulation NHL ice.

Makes total sense.

I mean after all this is all about growing the game.

I remember the old coliseum was designed with international ice size in mind. I don't think they ever removed seats to do it however. Kind of like the game with the bigger ice tbh.

Interesting.
Maybe that is why the first 12 rows in the old Coliseum were retractable. I remember Row 13 in the reds always had a more comfortable seat than Row 12.

Then they would decide for Saturday?
That can’t be right.
Did he say that?
Is than really a question in his mind?

Not sure where this fits, but the TSN top 300 scoring prediction lists this for the Oilers. If this comes true, I don't see us as a playoff team...

McDavid will have 39 goals alright.

At about the 65-70 game mark.
