Since the other thread is due to run out shortly, I opened a new one.

From today's practice, Sutter in midseason form.

on Rosen ‏@lakingsinsider 59s
Sutter colorful in demanding that the players practice at a game tempo. One or two #badwords.[/I]

jonathan davis ‏@westcoasthky 12m
Now we have something. Sutter ripped the players. "Practice like it is a $$%& game."

Ya know I read a quote from Muzzin regarding his back on Rosen's blog...

I don't know why I never put two and two together on that. From what I understand Muzzin was super physical and really had a nasty on ice-persona when he was younger. As time wore on I guess he just realized that wasn't sustainable to his health. Good of him to figure out and a little insight into why he maybe isn't as physical as he once was. I personally always wondered what happened to that. Scouts used to talk about him hitting like a truck. Just never pieced it together.

Here's the quote for those who missed it:

Jake Muzzin, on whether he prepared any differently over the off-season:
With my history and my back, I’d just do a lot of injury prevention workouts and stuff like that, not so much the heavy lifting that you some guys do when they’re younger. I worked on getting my legs a little stronger. The bigger guys hit harder and stuff like that, so I want to stay on my feet a little more. Pretty much just the injury prevention stuff and getting my legs a little stronger, a little faster.

I did miss that and read a lot of the post practice comments. Given that they have an overload of Dmen and playing physical is a large part of the Kings persona, I wonder if that will affect DL's decision in which D will stay or go.

And Jason, you're doing great work on the HB blog, there's a handful of writers over there that I enjoy the perspective of, and you're at the top of the list . Enjoyed the piece today and the insight into day 1 TCamp. I liked your opening night roster.
I really think Frattin will shine at LW on that 2nd line and provide the muscle, power forward slant that it needs. Crafty playmaker, sick sniper and bulldozer forward is a good mix.

Hey thanks a lot man! Stuff like that really keeps me chugging away on all this. That and my love for Kings hockey :P But thank you as a fan and as a reader. Much appreciated! :handclap:

Kopitar looked great today at camp.

Andreoff also had a couple of nice goals.
Weal's skating looks to have improved ten-fold, kept noticing how smooth and quick he was. Something I never really noticed in the past.

Uh oh. Do we have yet another prospect who's passed Kozun on the depth chart?

I recall something about him having to get some discs fused or something in his back early in juniors

I know nothing of prospects... But Weal was killing it when went to the first rookie game. I was surprised I had not heard his name here more.

I must have missed it, but what is this about Brown?

A guy like Weal needs to add another dimension to his game like being a faceoff specialist, if he ever wants to have a chance of making to the nhl, due to his lack of size, unfortunately.

Thanks, thrice.

Nice pass from his new linemate, Carter.
I predict 20 G 20 A 40 PTS for Frattin, if he plays with
Carter and Richards. Maybe more. But when you consider
that Penner and King scored a whopping 6 goals there,
it will be a huge upgrade.
