Edmonton is bad but like… they’re really really bad. It’s 330am and I’ve got a ratchet fever from my double vax but can still find the joy in shitting on Alberta.

They need to make a trade—but, their cap situation is so f***ed and they have shackled themselves to unmovable contracts with Campbell and Nurse. It’s virtually impossible to find a meaningful move now or later. They have to make the most out of the roster they have.

So, they need to fire the coach—but, I don’t think Woodcroft is entirely the problem. He has been handed a poorly constructed roster. Maybe firing him gives them a 15 game bump, but then what? And I don’t think you want to give the GM who put them in this situation the choice of coach again.

So, they need to fire the GM—but, Oilers leaderships has forever been plagued with nepotism and old boys club demagoguery. They seem destined to repeat mistakes of the past rather than find someone innovative. I could quite legitimately see them considering someone like Bergevin or Benning.

So, there is no easy solution. And I love that for them.

This feels like what would've happened to Lebron James if he stayed in Cleveland in 2010

Obviously in basketball you can influence more as one player who's on the court for 80%+ of the game, but holy are the Oilers ever wasting the primes of two of the best players of this generation. Just a colossal failure from ownership to management to coaching.

From a league perspective, it sucks to have your best talents wasting away, but given its happening in one of my least favorite places in North America, I couldn't be happier.

Get ready for McDavid to the Rangers this off-season. We’re set-up for a perfect storm trade:

Wow that's bad. Although it brings me some joy to hear that Edmonton just got beat by a AHL caliber team, but the reality is it's been 30 years since any Canadian team won the cup. Probably going to be another 30 at this point. First and foremost I want the Canucks to succeed, but at this point I would be content with any Canadian team winning the cup. The advantages of the non taxed states and the fixation Bettman has towards expansion franchises are making it near impossible for any Canadian team to succeed.

And yes I am ACTUALLY fun at parties lol

Literally every other Canadian team can get bent, I will cheer for Arizona before I even whisper I word of support for the Leafs or Edmonton.

I still remember 2011 and I’m still holding a grudge against them all for cheering for Boston. Aside from Montreal, but they’re annoying for other reasons.

I was not expecting this thread to get this level of response. Wow.

We are just making up for the last 10 years of posting in the first 2 months of the season.

My man, WE ARE SO BACK.
Tough for you guy though because there’s gonna be some extra work for ya ;);)
Trolls and shitposts are everywhere

Either the mods are doing a great job or we’re all just less ornery as a fan base because I haven’t really seen anything too trolling.
