I hope if they are moving a prospect, they are doing it in a deal where we are strengthening at that position.

We are pitiful at RHD and Centre, with Danford and Minten being our pipeline.

I would hate for Danford to go to bring in a winger or an old Luke Schenn. I would look at Danford to bring in a 2RHD, and would still like to move Niemala and/or Timmins before moving Danford.

Same at centre. I hate moving Minten to bring in an old Brayden Schenn, and leave us no young centre pipeline. I would be more ok moving Minten to bring I no a young centre in the Krebs mold, who is further along in their development.

I’m ok in making prospect moves, but not when they leave us weaker in positions that we already are weak in, and don’t address them in a way that benefits us in the long term

If I had to guess I'd say Cowan is probably our most prudent trade chip. Wingers are easiest to replace and Minten as a middle-6 C floor is an important piece, and our lack of defensive prospect depth precludes us from trading Danford unless the piece coming back is say under 27 and under contract.

St Louis is loaded at winger on their roster and pipeline.

Gonna be Minten or Danford imo if it’s St Louis.

Leafs made 4 transactions last year around the TDL, I think one deal is gonna raise eye brows with Utah in this scenario but I have caught a few Utah games lately and I really feel like there is a break out ready to happen with McBain.

He's big, fast, plays centre, pks, fights and you're going to need to force Utah to say yes because why the hell would you trade a young guy like this but we're talking about a 1st+ on Laughton...let's get the younger guy.

I tried to address centre, LW and RD.

As per usual guys, just rip it up and tell me it sucks haha, it is armchair GM stuff and just meant to be fun ahead of the TDL.

I would definitely go-to Utah or Seattle for a bottom 6 forward. Anyone on Seattle would he good for our bottom 6.

And then save up the rest for a RHD. If there's any left over and we've had a drink, go for Donato.

That Buffalo trade is heavily slanted in the Leafs favour.

The Buffalo trade is tough because I tried to check their Athletic page with their own writer etc and basically the expectation is that Jokiharju isn't going to be traded due to lack of interest.

Zucker is interesting but what is he worth? I guess with both being retained there may be need to be going back to Buffalo. They apparently don't want to keep getting just draft picks so Jarnkrok is a respectable enough vet but more for next year.

It's a bit convoluted for we, I'm lookin for 2 deals

I like the Mayfield one of yours. There's one then I'm looking at Gourde for 3C

Maybe Dewar (contract dump) + 3rd + Hirvonen/Niemela. I'm not sure that's enough but I think I'm in the ballpark

Then maybe I chuck a really late pick to the Habs for Dvorak and see if he sucks because he's playing for the Habs or he just sucks now
Maybe there's something there and we can help rehabilitate his career for a couple of cheap seasons 🤔

Dewar is making 1.18M and RFA with arb rights, I would prefer to extend Lorentz around 950-1M for 1-2 years, I don't think Dewar or 4th line wingers should go beyond 1M

I'm not a big fan of Dewar, he's going to cost to much and I don't think he does enough to warrant anything above league min

Totally.

With McBain...what would we all pay for an Adam Lowry? I think that's what Jack McBain is gonna be in 1-2 years.

Dvorak definitely just sucks.

Would love a McBain + Kesselring package. Both 25, addresses positional needs that would ideally solidify 3C and a top 4 RHD for the foreseeable future. I'm sure it would cost a lot, but it's better then over the hill, end of season rentals you'll lose for nothing along with the assets it took to get them.

We waste our picks and prospects for the past 6/7 years. We are in first place. Lets stay the course. None of these trades at the deadline have done very very little. I am tired of giving everything away. Unless its a difference maker.

I hope the leafs dont get older .only way i give up blue chip prospects is for a top 6
Top 3 defenceman
Some of these wild asking prices for players that havnt made a difference on their own teams
Stand pat .dont give away players for another foligno fiasco

Kesselring would be a great add.
I'm not sure what Utah is going to do with their RHD, because now in theory both Durzi and Marino are ahead of him on the depth chart.
6'5 RHD who can bring offense and is solid defensively, at just 1.4m this and next year.
I would actually give up quite a bit to get this player.

I don't like the first and third trades (overpays IMO). The idea of Cowan, Danford, and our 1st going for a pending free agent makes me dizzy.

This has been my stance - Dream pair to add.

I'd add another 4th liner to remove Revo and another depth RHD to be #7 so we don't need to see Myers or Timmins in the postseason.

But late round pick type trades.
