Would you take Jones for Rielly as the main pieces in a trade?
Detroit isn't trading Kasper. He's literally off limits to them. They selected him in 1st round a year ago. Arizona isn't trading McBain. Anaheim just gave Frank V a large extension, Islanders are negotiatiing extension with Maxim. St. Louis isn't trading Holloway who they offersheeted this past summer.
I bet you would also say there’s no way Colorado would move Rantanen before he ended up getting moved.

Assuming Bedard would be down for a change as well....we take the chance, get two solid Defense if he doesn't workout.....they get possibly the best goal scorer if he can stay healthy and will surpass the number one American in points plus a pick, seems like fair value for both teams

Bédard isn’t ready to be a contending teams number 1 center not sure hes even a center and him marner and Marchand is a horribly small top line
Size honestly has nothing to do with it brother & Bedard just needs a change...put Marner beside him & Marchand next year he's gonna give you 82+ points and probably surpass Matthews.
Realistically this would lock our defense,goalies & offense for 10years with the option to bring up the young guns and compete for another 10+ years, especially if we're drafting good in the first ten....we would still have a roster of

I like the baccend but your out to lunch if you think that first line amounts to anything that’s a big step baccwards marners who needs to go not Matthews
You could land a jumbo jet between the cost of this roster and the cap ceiling.
If Matthew's can get us a younger center with a huge upside and our number #1 right defense plus more defense depth for the same cap hit we jump on it, even if Matthew's is more experienced....and history shows that has nothing to do with it, alot of superstars have won with very little experience in the playoffs if any at all.
And between Matthews, Marner and Nylander one will have to be moved eventually if we want to win a cup....out of those three players i feel Matthew's cares the least about bringing a cup back to canada & Toronto.
Marner and Nylander are both canadian and show more passion just my view on it....and there skill is very close, especially considering these two guys can create more opportunities for guys to score so matthews production can be replaced easier

Actually im really good with numbers and it would fit under next years cap...obviously Marchand & Tavares take a cap hit, and if were still off by a few million we sign Marner & Rantanens contact so they make more once Tavares & Marchand are off the books and Cowan, Steeves get called up

Marchand is top 3 in points the last 7+ years, just him alone could give you Matthews numbers offensively and defensively...honestly he's more important in my eyes come playoffs too.

Thats why Marchand's impact has won Boston a cup, players fear playing him haha not Matthew's....
Marchand would give us enough impact until Bedard blooms easily and like i mentioned we're comparing the whole line not just one player...not only does this line match up in every way but it just keeps improving over the years, we have no idea if Matthew's can stay healthy and I'd bank on the possibly of thay happening being really low...especially if were competing every year in the hardest division, we jump on his value now if players like Bedard, Jones are available thats just reality....we would be foolish to turn that deal down if it was offered or Chicago showed interest and once you mention Matthew's too them i think there game
Also Matthew's and Knies dont create space he does that no one but Marner, all they do is get open come on bro....Bedard and Marchand have just as much skill, hockey IQ, gritt vs Matthews, Knies
Just because someone is a few inches smaller doesn't determine how tough they are, or how much heart they show.....and lets face it Matthew's isn't the scariest guy on the ice.....Marchand would put more fear into the opponent thats a fact
