If we want Dobson, 100% Knies would have to be going the other way. I would also bet Timmins would be apart of the deal as well.

It would hurt to loose Knies but I think I would still pull the trigger. The possibility of acquiring a top pairing RHD doesn’t come very often and when it does, you should probably jump on the opportunity.

Dobson would really solidify would blueline, while creating a hole upfront. However it’s easier to find someone to play with Matthews than finding another top pair RHD.

McCabe - Dobson
Rielly - Tanev
Ekman Larsson - Myers
Lou traded Toews for 2 2nds, I highly doubt they get anywhere near that value for him. Lou probably takes a few roster players with term and a pick or prospect.

The flaw in this logic is if Toews was worth more than 2 2nds at the time of the trade then it's also on every other GM for not offering more. The Leafs had all of their future picks at the time of that trade (except the 2021 3rd)- why is Toews not playing in Toronto?

I'm not defending Lou but given Dobson's age/size/handedness/point totals I guarantee he gets a better return than Knies.

Toews wasn't etablished like a #1 in NYI, he was like a #4, Dobson yes hes etablish as top #1...

They're a world of difference between both

I feel like we’d be looking at something like this if a deal were to go down.

To Toronto: Noah Dobson
To Islanders: Matthew Knies + Conor Timmins + 2026 1st Rounder

Would definitely be bittersweet loosing Knies though.

Lou doesn't like prospects or picks so I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for Knies or nothing for Dobson

I support getting Dobson for nothing then.

I'd give him Timmins and Robertson just so he gets something, but I really like the nothing option.

Put it his way though, if Leafs were going to shop Knies they'd have a lot more teams lining up to get in on it.

This seems like a fair offer and a competitive one given what others would offer. Knies is a unicorn and would suck to lose but we'd get a 70 point RHD
The main board suggests the Isles are after Elias Pettersson the forward so Noah Dobson is being dangled.
Vancouver losing 2 100 point centres in a few weeks would be hilarious

A top-4 of Hughes, Dobson, Hronek, and Pettersson would put them at the top of the league.

Suprised Dobson isn't a PK defender.

For RD who have played 100+ games in the last couple of years, he's 50th. in PK time.
For all defensemen who have played 100+ games he's 115th. for PK time .

He's more an offensive than all around defenseman.
