Ideally we have a third pairing of Ekman Larsson - Korczak.Korczak can replace timmins still need someone in the top 4 though

I could definitely see him going to Dallas. I don't know why but I thought they preferred Duchene on the wing. Gourde would give them a solid 1-3 of Hintz/Johnston/Gourde. I wouldn't be surprised if the trade was Gourde @50% for Bourque outright. So CAR and NYR are rumored to be in on JT Miller
Next up do WSH/DAL/LAK need a centre? Honestly, no.
Is Gourde a 2C? No, so I don't think WPG bothers with him, nor would Carolina.
How are Comtois and Krebs respective situations comparable?Krebs is this year's Maxime Comtois.
Not sure I see Dallas giving up on Bourque for a rental in Gourde, who isn't all that valuable at the moment. JT Miller heading there makes a lot of sense though. Could make things tricky for Dallas' cap going forward.I could definitely see him going to Dallas. I don't know why but I thought they preferred Duchene on the wing. I don't see JT Miller for the reason you specified. I could see them being willing to move off Bourque if they love Gourde. He's 23 and barely producing in their top 6. He's not all that different from Robertson except he hasn't has the shine of a RS C.Not sure I see Dallas giving up on Bourque for a rental in Gourde, who isn't all that valuable at the moment. Glad it wasn't us!
A move clearly foreshadowing Mayfield on his way to Toronto…,,
One thing taking a risk on an 'asshole' or 'bad team-mate' like JT Miller, who can put up 100 points and play hard hockey, completely different thing signing a player who is washed out of multiple leagues for both being an asshole and also being a terrible player.Glad it wasn't us!
He's a shell of his prime, but unlike, say signing a Toews or Kessel, that prime doesn't have enough upside to justify the experiment. Not imo, at least
And that's before the off-ice distractions and lack of chemistry he's had on most teams.
There seems to be some faulty memories around here, acting like we've been throwing away 1st round picks and prospects on rentals willy nilly.
We were actually very protective of our prospects (thankfully, as they're currently providing 73% of our forward depth scoring beyond the core 4), and we have only traded two 1sts for rentals in the Matthews era; neither of which were likely meant to be rentals.
Josh Leivo leads the entire KHL in scoring, you think hes a good NHL player?I think its early to call Deangelo a “washed” player
He was playing at a near PPG pace in the KHL. If he wasn’t a locker room issue, he could’ve been very very helpful to us. he could’ve been a huge upgrade on Timmins offensively, and we could shelter him on the bottom pairing. Our PP could use someone like him, dude had 51 in 64 with Carolina a few years back
I guess we will have to wait and see how he is.
The Leafs can put in a waiver claim for him.I think its early to call Deangelo a “washed” player

I don't know the net plus and minus of each draft pick round, but we certainly didn't spend that much on rentals; which is what was being discussed. Perhaps you're thinking of the excellent defensemen we acquired to help our team for multiple years?Didn’t we have a net loss of 4 firsts and 4 seconds?
McMann (who was a prospect), Knies (who was actually reported to be highly protected by Dubas, who laughed at the idea of trading him), Robertson, Holmberg, and Minten. They make up 73% of our forward depth scoring beyond the core 4.So McMann who was never a prospect, Knies who Shanahan allegedly blocked Dubas from trading, and Robertson? Did I miss anyone?
Agreed, no thanksHis shooting % is high and he's more RW than centre...this would not be a good target, IMO.

If I remembercorrectly you're not big on the idea of adding Ryan Strome but to me that's the guy I'd love to add, add him and Kaeden and this team is far betterHis shooting % is high and he's more RW than centre...this would not be a good target, IMO.
Underachieving young players from door mat teams that could probably be had for peanuts and who don't have comps in the Leaf's system. He is not my solution for the Leafs #3 guy but he is better than anyone they have internally. Not sure what happened to Comtois but I don't see Krebs in the K next year. How are Comtois and Krebs respective situations comparable?
What have I missed?
