Can Murray play 30 games? Maybe you bring back Tarasov in the proposed trade.

The plan is you promote one of Hildeby or AA or you just re-sign Stolarz if he continues to be the best goalie in the league.

Honestly your best point yet. I am focused on playoffs where I don't see the benefit of having a high-value back up goalie.

I'm not saying moving Woll is the only way forward and it has to happen. I am proposing a trade and some people on this board can't open their mind enough to even think about the possible benefit which is why I am still defending the idea.
Well with today’s news about Stolarz does it make you reconsider your position?

I would be all over Kaako from NYR. We need to take chances on young talent.

Robertson and a 2nd for Kaako?

If we could acquire and extend Frederic from BOS, I would look at that too.
I think Rangers will get more for Kaako than that... but I'd consider it. The momentum is swinging back to a 3C being the priority though, and Kaako isn't that. Neither is Frederic a 3C. Both are nice players, just maybe not the priority...

If you did pick up a 3C... would Kaako as a subsequent transaction supplant McMann, or Domi on the third line?

Are you sure? Kakko has draft pedigree but he’s in his sixth season. He hasn’t done a lot in that time to warrant a big return

It makes me less confident in Stolarz for sure. I’m very curious to see how Woll does with a starters role. He can easily prove me wrong here.
Before we start dumping assets we need to see if our goaltenders can stay healthy come the playoffs.
I would tinker this year he'll our core 4 haven't showed anything in the playoffs.

Screw it. Go for the blockbuster and trade for Cozens. How? Idk and don't care. Buffalo has something in the water that makes their players winners after leaving and we need to be the next team to take advantage of it. Probably impossible to do so maybe McLeod could be the more realistic option. Last year of his deal and it's a disaster there so idk why he'd want to sign there unless they really overpay, so maybe they'll be more open to trade him. Him and McMann could be good on the 3rd line together with their speed and also Domi who is pretty quick as well. The question at this point is what the hell do they Sabres want in a trade?

Cozens would definitely be a fantastic target, I’d break the bank and almost do whatever it would take to get him.

Kakko is the new Puljujarvi... expectation will always be too high for what he really bring on the ice
Eh I dunno. I think he'd develop fairly well with a guy like Marner.

Dude big can skate and stays around the net. I wouldn't be surprised if he could pot 25-30 consistently with Mitch feeding him. Allows us another duo threat.

Minten will be better than him
Next year
If Minten becomes a 0.5PPG player, I'll jump for joy... but it would be incredible shocking. Honestly, it seems unlikely to me.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "expectations"... my personal expectation, is that he's a pretty good 3rd liner... nothing more.

what he bring more than mcmann...i prefer paying for a rental who really bring an upgrade somwhere than a guy like kakko who doesn't bring anything new

Both Stoli and Woll are pretty similar to me in that they are both really talented but both have an extensive injury history and I wouldn’t feel comfortable depending solely on either one of them.
It’s definitely Woll’s big chance to prove something here.

First, I'm not hoping we trade for Kakko in anyway... I don't think we should be trading for a winger at all. So, just to clear that up.

But, I do think Kakko is a pretty clear upgrade on McMann... Kakko is a 40 point scorer, at 23 years old. McMann is 28, with a career high of 28 points. Kakko will still get better overall, and McMann is at the age where players typically decline. If you could swap them for each other, I think just about anyone would.

Kaako isn't 1 season of 40 pts
For his career .39 over 82 32 pts.

kakko last 3 season produced at a rate of 17 goal and 35 pts/ season( so including his 40 pts season and last 2 worst)

Mcmann last 2 22 goal and 34 pts pace...

hes younger okay but doesn't mean he will develop in something necessairly better and outside of age, he bring nothing more and the way he react and what he said by telling hes not the worst, for me that's a red flag. You can be mad of being healthy scratch but attacking your own teammate by saying some player are worst, that's pretty pathetic and why eve a1v1 mcmann vs kakko trade, i would not do it.

Ps 28 is clearly not the age player declining...
