Kasperi has Robertson stats ...
If I could get the right asset back I would deal Robby and add Kap. Based on last year in two leagues I thought there was a reasonable chance Robertson could break out if he could just stay healthy. Its early but I am thinking that won't happen under Berube. With his trade request earlier it doesn't seem like he wants to just put his head down and push, and the bounces haven't forced the coach to rely on him more.

Nick is a top 9 guy but they don't have the centers to roll three scoring lines. If they leave him with decent forwards I think he will produce as he did last year in his minutes with Domi and Jarn. Right now the shot metrics are not in sync with the actual scoring, so is he in the dog house with the coach because he isn't leaving a mark?

I don't want him gone for a 3rd but if any more than that and Berube has no use for him, I would do something. Having said that, he is getting more TOI than last year so obviously not getting the Lily treatment. Its just that I think if he rots on the bench, Kap can do that just as well and maybe some of that 2018-19 magic can come back.

Beautiful B.C.
If olivier is available, more than half the league will be interested. I dont know if the Jackets want to trade a player like that because he's a leader and one of their only tough guys they have
Couldn't agree more, his value is going to skyrocket because of how many suitors will be after him I think. Reminds me of the over-payments of like.... Hagel and Jeannot valuations but hopefully not that insane haha.

Morgan Frost scratched today. Wouldn't mind bringing him in. Wonder if Flyers still like Robertson

I'm not sure the Flyers ever liked Robertson. They have their own version in Bobby Brink.

I'd also question whether the Leafs have the wherewithal to make more than 1 material addition to the forward group.

You look at this roster (especially up front), and there's quite a few guys somewhat cemented into positions.

Matthews & Tavares are going to be your 1-2 centres.

Knies is going to be a top 6 left winger, McMann & Pacioretty make too little money and provide too much to lose a spot in the lineup; althoug maybe McMann or Pacioretty find themsleves on the 4th line in a completely healthy situation.

Marner & Nylander are going to be your top 2 right wingers.

Between Jarnkrok, Kampf, Dewar, Holmberg, Lorentz and Reaves, you've got more than enough to make a 4th line.

That leaves Domi & Robertson. Even if you assume Robertson is on the way out, Domi is going to have to take one of those top 9 spots.

Given all that rigidity, crowded bottom of the lineup, and limited draft capital (obviously they dont want to move Minten or Cowan) it would seem potentially unwise to "jump" on the first acquisition that happens to make it to market... but rather focus your efforts on the deadline when more teams pictures become clearer.

Morgan Frost would be a really nice addition long term IMO, but Brock Nelson would make the Leafs an absolute matchup nightmare. Matthews-Domi, Tavares-Nylander, Nelson-Marner... then again... Matthews-Domi, Tavares-Marner, and Frost-Nylander also sound pretty good.
