I'd be okay if they traded all their top prospects for long term Top 6 forwards / Top 3 defenders.

Matthews timeline.

Now if Matthews is traded before his contract expires, you'd recoup those picks/prospects anyway.

The Leafs are on a Matthews BBD.

This last year of Tavares and Marner was always going to be tricky. I don't think that we are a true contender this year and would have trouble with Tampa and/or Florida. We are getting sub-optimal seasons from Mathews and Reilly which doesn't bode well. I would be happy to sit on the sidelines, preserve what little assets we have and try to fill in the holes in the summer.
