I assumed at least some back channels were explored prior to the Avs trade. Seems they tried to hedge their bets with a return in the middle ground. Horrific stuff.

But yeah, I would super assume now, that the same mistake wouldn't be made by two teams in the same season on the same player. He goes for a rental price or a signed price.

For those struggling to visualize Rantanen in Blue and White..

When Mikko was still an undrafted prospect he wore #16 for his country,

We might be needing a replacement for another player currently wearing #16 and it would be his future money that would be going to Mikko

It's more of a chaotic solution to a chaotic dubie mess, fight fire with fire type of thing - reaching a breaking point where big change for the sake of big change makes sense.

What happens with that kind of a lineup? what do we end up with next year?
