I asked on a Sabres thread.. they'd like a 4th for Krebs. You get a real C for cheap, he's under control for years, $1.45 mil for this and next year, then RFA. 24 years old, good in the dot, has some physicality... I mean, screw this 1st + Cowan for Schenn stuff... a 4th is nothing to take a gamble on a young kid, who likely ends up being better out of Buffalo. Assuming Buffalo the org, values him the same as fans. Worst case scenario, is he's just a 4C... and cheaper than Kampf for next year, so you move Kampf, save some money for years. Best case, he blossoms into a 3C or better... he was 2ppg in his last year in the WHL, 8 points in 7 games for Canada at WJC... I think there is more there... but if the cost is just a 4th... I mean man, that's an easy yes.
Hint: its not.

To Toronto: Scott Laughton (50% retained) + Tyson Foerster
To Philadelphia: Simon Benoit + Nikita Grebenkin + 2026 1st Rounder

To Toronto: 2026 5th Rounder
To New Jersey: David Kampf

To Toronto: Brandon Carlo
To Boston: Nick Robertson + Ben Danford + 2025 2nd Rounder

Knies - Matthews - Marner
McMann - Tavares - Nylander
Domi - Laughton - Foerster
Lorentz - Holmberg - Jarnkrok

Rielly - Carlo
McCabe - Tanev
Ekman Larsson - Timmins
Holmberg is not a Center

You severely under value a 1st rounder in a deep 2026 draft. In addition if Tavares and marner leave that pick could be closer to top 10. Stop trading 1sts

Feels like the latter? How the hell would you know?

He is a new Dad so is dealing with family, and everyone goes through down periods in which they don't perform their best.
I don’t know, hence why I said it feels like, and not speaking in absolutes.

How did I come to that conclusion? Watching the guy play like a sack of shit all season.

Everyone goes through down periods, sure. But you’re our #1 D and getting paid like it in a do or die season. Get your act together.

Everyone has kids at some point too, could not care less.

At this point, I think I'm just waiting for Florida to get Rantanen, so I'm not disappointed that Brad does nothing at the trade deadline
