Just my opinion, but that's a tricky one. I think we'd need to add some physical to the lineup, such as Weegar, then move out Muzzin and Holl. I mean, that would be fantastic IMO, if we could extend and afford Weegar long-term... if he doesn't have a future with Calgary, which is just speculation at best right now.

IDK if he is fine with the media, but since he would not be a core player anymore, maybe he flies under the radar.

Line 4 I have no idea anymore, we will see how trades shake out. Once NCAA is over, slide Knies onto the 4th line. Robertson in for Kessel if Kessel to Toronto doesn't happen. Neither provide any defence and would be there to shoot the puck.

What is everyones though on Engvall getting a shot with Tavares? Engvall is a mucker/forechecker with speed to burn. He battles down low. Good on the cycle. The type of player Tavares has typically had success with. Once the Kerfoot/Holl moves hopefully happen, maybe you can grab Milano/Rodrigues and stick them on the other side. Let's you slide Nylander down to play with Jarnkrok.

Engvall with Tavares is a double no for me. I think it would bring down Tavares’ production and pull up Engvall’s production so he gets a bigger pay day and guarantees his departure.

Kessel is a playoff performer. Most years he was right around ppg. He was just barely beat out by Crosby as the Conn Smythe Winner in 2016 too.

He has comparables in Dermott and Liljegren who signed for less. The Leafs have a good defense core and depth beyond the top-7.
