Should we trade voynov and something for a higher first round draft pick? He was definately not 2013 voynov this post season (except that save on nash). It would really help our cap space for gabbo.

Players ate going to have up years and down years. He'll be back

as much as I was disappointed in slava this year... the dude has some crazy talent and hes still very young.

I still cringe when i think of alex zhitnik and how eager the kings were to dump the guy when he hadn't even hit his prime. Dont make the same mistake. Slava is a special player.

Dude played the most games this year out of any other player on the roster.

He doesn't need to be traded, he just needs a nap. Give the guy a break.

Just out of curiosity, how does trading VV and acquiring a higher draft pick make us a better team next year?

I actually think this is pretty reasonable...

...if you're a Ducks fan.

You gotta give your young defensemen a chance to bounce back, just look at the d-men traded away by the Kings in the 90s. Some were ready to trade Muzzin for scraps earlier in the season and he played a pivotal role in the playoffs.

Give them time. It's Voynov's first full NHL season and between pre-season, the olympics and this extended playoff run he played like 115 games or something.

And replace him with who? I swear some people don't think before they post.

I am not championing trading Slava.

But it seems like everytime someone wants someone traded it is universally shot down by the masses. Again I don't think Slava is the ideal guy to be moved at this point, but he is certainly in the discussion. But really it's a discussion that will probably be taking place in June 2015 and not June 2014. Like BigBrown said, lets give Slava a chance to bounce back, he is only 24 and played well last year.

Not true. Slava MAY get traded, but the OP's proposal was ridiculous!

The only reason this makes sense is if the Kings were trash and needed someone in the top of round one. Neither are true.

Well if Slava is the one they choose to move it will be for salary reasons so it's not like they will be bringing back an established guy with a large salary.

I wouldn't move him right now, but if he is the one deemed to be expendable after the season it will likely be for a prospect and/or draft pick.

More realistically, it will be Amart that gets moved, but Slava's an option as well.

Well if AMart is traded it will be this summer, and I think it would be odd if the Kings playoff hero wouldn't even be in the building for the banner raising. I know Bolland was traded last year, but that was because they were up against the cap, the Kings are not up against the cap this season.

If AMart leaves it will be as an UFA after this coming season because DL feels he isn't worth the money he is going to demand. Contending teams like the Kings don't trade quality defenders at the deadline because they are going to leave as an UFA, better to just keep him through the playoffs.

It's hockey. It's business. Not a fairy tale story. Yeah, it'll suck that Amart may get moved, but again, that's really up to him. If he wants to sign here with LA for a lot less FMV, while remaining as our 3rd pairing, I'm sure Lombardi will find a way to fit him in.

No; the last thing I want to witness is a farm-raised player, beating up the team that drafted him.

Case in point: Ramiro Mendoza, Mariano Rivera's cousin, during the 2004 ALCS. Yankees drafted him, but was part of the 2004 World Series Red Sox team.

VV had a rough year. Hope he comes back in better shape next year. I still remember when he was one of the fastest skaters on the ice 2 years ago. That and someone switch him to PK Suban's stick manufacture.
