I worry Blake is looking for a Mike Richards type deal. Cost LA a lot at the (simmonds was my favorite king and Schenn was a recent high pick). If he pays that price for PLD it will be a mistake IMO.

Hopefully we would get more than 1.5 years of good hockey out of PLD.

So, the big difference here is that Dubois would choose to play for your team derp derp.

According to who?
Until he got bored and wanted out just like your situation now.
You will not get what you hope for , he is damaged goods.
Good luck with your one man band!

I don't see Roy going anywhere.
He is the only one with grit and size combined.

We are desperately looking for guys like him.
I wouldn’t trade him, but handing Gavrikov that contract might make it hard to keep him with only the year left. I think I’d try moving Durzi first but they might have a lot more interest in Roy. Detroit might be a good fit for either. Durzi played with Maata before, so that might not be a bad button pair. Roy would be a good partner for Edvinsson too.

Detroit also has a lot of ELC players and picks. If they do move Roy and could get a Johansson in return from Detroit, that might be a great deal for both teams. Johansson can play in the NHL next year, and you put his puck skills and skating skills on that backend, that could be a great trade long term.

It's been said multiple times in this thread already but he probably has little to no value. Look at what Bjorkstrand got back last year - a 3rd and a 4th. Bjorkstrand was a superior player who provided more value per dollar. I'd imagine an Iafallo deal looks like that or just one of those pieces.

The Pens and Buffalo peeps see that somehow different and at least offer a 2nd and exchange of 2nd's

Fully agree.

This is exactly the reason why we shouldn't trade him.
If we keep trading the better player because they have more value do not improve the team.

Trimming fat first is highest priority now

$14 million off the books with Kopitar and Arvidsson needing new contracts. Kopitar won’t need to be re-signed at $10 million. Arvidsson might leave in free agency. Lots of space and no one needing a raise except perhaps Roy. Unless other moves are made, re-signing Roy won’t be an issue.

That assuming everything is optimal and they don’t add. They still need a goalie signed, Byfield could develop, Vilardi could play on his qualifying offer this year. Lots of things can and do happen.

He’s going to get a pretty nice contract. That’s what we do know. At least a 5 year deal and probably around $6 million. So that’s the decision they’ll have to make. Do they make it this summer, or so they wait until the deadline, and move him if they’re not in the race? If he isn’t moved this summer, there’s probably a good chance he goes to market next summer.

The best case scenario if they do move him, is to get a young player like a Albert Johansson in return. They get 5-6 years control over a kid that likely plays ten years.

Roy is one of the most underrated players in the league. Even Kings fans don't realize how good he is.

But they're in a difficult spot with him. He'll be 29 in the first year of his next contract, and LA already has Doughty, Clarke, Spence and Durzi on the right side.

If he's traded, I just don't think we'll get proper value in return. Which is frustrating.

If we decide to keep him, I think Blake needs to work on extending him right now.

I like Iafallo more than most. He is versatile, can play all over the lineup and never takes a shift off. Unfortunately we have three winners that are making $4 million each and not enough spots to put them.

We need size on the backend. Would Winnipeg trade their remaining year of Dillon for two years of Iafallo?

Their salaries are almost a wash.

Jets do have a glut at LHD and we really need to open up a spot for a young guy like Heinola.
I am tempted to hold onto Dillon for a lucrative TDL deal but on the other hand, we could use the roster spot.

Hard to say what the Jets’ needs will be. I think I would like to see the mayhem to the Jets roster these next few days before commenting on proposals for our lesser pieces.

Not this again.....

According to Mr. Blake who was directly asked on a presser which youngsters could be traded because of the cap crunch.

Also the fact that those guys have not been involved for a fine player like Fiala should
lower your hopes what you could get for Dubois from the Kings.

Every time there is a Winnipeg offer you come with the same trade proposals and always get the same answer from the Kings peeps.
Isn't that like a sign to you?

I am as clear now is a i can, the Jets have absolutely nobody who will fetch Vilardi or Byfield.
Not because they have bad players, they DO NOT have what we need.

Dubois is a Danauld clone and we already don't know what to do with Danauld.
In return you ask for our top prospects and hope that by some miracle after 45th time someone will say yes.

oh my.........
I better get out to shoot some crow.
Hopefully this is the same mudslinging as with Chychrun where a done deal is reported but none of the teams had any idea what the press is talking about.

This would be a huge mistake setting us back for many years
