I agree they're a desirable location, but right now that's a different matter. They can be Xanadu but not be able to do much at the deadline because they've spent all their assets over the years. I think that's where they're at right now.Vegas is a destination so they should be a free agent hot bed if they can keep the team competitive
Than try to trade for Woll, do something to get different goalies. If they aren't desperate about this, they don't care and they've quit. The Leafs aren't dealing Stolarz. He's put up really good numbers the last number of seasons, and Woll isn't proven.
It's not us you should be worried about.Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard f***ing suck. You stans of his out there please wake up and smell the coffee
I get that and I am frustrated but the deadline isn’t over yet. The real ire should be if the deadline passes and they actually don’t end up doing anything worthwhile.I'm usually a Glass Half Full fan but considering that the team has been outright terrible for a good 11-12 games now, all the rumors are pointing to them not interested in upgrading the goaltending (even if it's a smokescreen) and that they might not have any cap space because of the Kane situation something of which is still not, apparently, resolved right up to the deadline, it's understandable that the fanbase is on edge. At least going into previous deadlines, the team was generally playing well leading up to it but they've been terrible for a month so I think it's natural for fan frustration to be rising.
we should worry about Stan Pat.It's not us you should be worried about.
the Oilers have 375k in cap space, no 1st or 2nd rounder in this years draft and most of the team has NMC....which available goalie do you want that will lead us to a Cup?I'll state it plainly. Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are not good enough, have not been good enough, will not be good enough, both need to be replaced with different options in goal.
Does that help clear up your confusion.
Im sorry dude. But targetting a playoff contender for a trade for a goalie is just not going to happen. They aren't selling.Than try to trade for Woll, do something to get different goalies. If they aren't desperate about this, they don't care and they've quit.
Sure, find a way, do the work, if you've quit, good on you, but the team can't.the Oilers have 375k in cap space, no 1st or 2nd rounder in this years draft and most of the team has NMC....which available goalie do you want that will lead us to a Cup?
Then call someone else and make a deal. Again, just throwing out options to pay for, go get goalies, this team deserves stops.Im sorry dude. But targetting a playoff contender for a trade for a goalie is just not going to happen. They aren't selling.
Eh Vegas still has one more kick at the deadline can in them. Cataford, Karki, Connelly, Uronen and Sapovaliv are all decent prospects. I can see two of them plus their 2027 1st being a competitive offer.
However we SHOULD be able to out-bid any Western Conference team if it's just about futures. One of Savoie, O'Reilly, Akey and our 2026 1st is good ammunition. The trick is we have to actually want to part with it.
The problem with Gibson is Verbeek.Wtf? then whats the answer? Mrazek? How is this a contract? It's 2 years and Anaheim will retain. I'd rather take him over the 2 shit stains in net right now thank you very much
I would agree. I just think if teams know there isn’t a chance of signing him, they’re gonna stay away.Ultimately thats fair but there is like 5-6 playoff teams that can offer far better than Arvidsson, O'Reilly, 1st.
We have until tomorrow to see who is smrtThey'd probably find a way to Tetris them all in.
Vegas is smart. Edmonton is not.

Nobody wants our low picks or our crap goalies. They have 1sts in the next two drafts, a goalie making $2.75 that can go the other way, and other salary that is conceivably moveable.
Sure, but I would say the same about Cody Ceci and yet....Nobody wants our low picks or our crap goalies.
Nobody wants our low picks or our crap goalies.
I’m not worried. He really tightened things up this year. He'd need to wrench it up in the playoffs
He’s in his annual season is over phase.May as well log off then and stop following the thread. Nothing we have is worth anything, so you're wasting your time following along.
Teams would want 1st round picks and Skinner in return for a goalie they are looking to move on from.
Yup, though I'll say keeping this tandem in goal sure has that feel to it lol. He’s in his annual season is over phase.
in a perfect world, which goalie realistically do you want? for me it was Vejmelka but he's off the market now...They have 1sts in the next two drafts, a goalie making $2.75 that can go the other way, and other salary that is conceivably moveable.
no, I've never once said that I want to keep the goalies the same
I've said all along that the problems run deeper than "getting a goalie, and we will be fine!" narrative that exists
getting a goalie isn't suddenly gonna stop all the breakaways and defensive blunders this teams gives up on a daily basis
what's stopping them is the lack of good goalies on the market, the lack of assets to acquire a good goalie, and the cap space to fit in good goalie
Stuart would be .870 on that Chicago teamin a perfect world, which goalie realistically do you want? for me it was Vejmelka but he's off the market now...
so Soderblom? dude has a .905 save%...not exactly lighting the world on fire
