Really? Quick, Vlader? Korpi? all of the ones you listed are massive gambles. This board was shitting on Binnington during the 4 Nations until he had a good finals game,
Sure, but not as big of a gamble as just "hoping" this tandem just decides to play better. I was shitting on Binnington, I don't like him, but he's better than Skinner, barely.

Which goalie though? the two that people wanted either resigned or are super injury prone.

Oh I think they are pretty much f*cked

They painted themselves into a corner.

Binnington is probably the best fit. But would need him at 50%. Who knows if St. Louis even wants to move him. And it’s going to be expensive.

Gibson has the same issues above as Binngton. But more injury prone.

Unless they can convince St. Louis or Anaheim to take Kane. Neither Binnington or Gibson should have much value if they aren’t retained.

I’d at least to like to see them to go for someone like Soderblom and put Pickard back in Bakersfield if they can’t make a more expensive goalie work.

That would seem to be the most logical acquisition out of that list. Vegas has no assets. They have no high-end prospect. No good but expendable roster player. And no 1st until 2027. They've bled their currency for the sake of their business model, and it was eventually going to catch up to them.
Sure, STL seems to believe he has a bunch of value or that lie is out there lol.

Okay. So you think that O'Reilly, 1st, 3rd lands you a player of Rantanens calibre?
And you don't think other teams would easily match that?
Add in Kane and yes that should be plenty for Rantanen.

CAR aren't trading him within division and he won't be going to a non playoffs or a bubble team. There aren't many teams left who would be interested or willing to pay the price.

Vegas is a destination so they should be a free agent hot bed if they can keep the team competitive

Yet they will find a way.

True, but gambling with that list costs us and limits us from making other changes.

Now thats interesting. Sending Kane over. They potentially get a winger with size for the playoff run that they can play next year. We can save on the cap this year and next year and add a guy for the playoff run that is ELITE next to an Elite center.

That's the issue, I don't think the Czech kid has done enough to potentially supplant him and MTL is always a pain in the ass to deal with.

I think I would call the Leafs and try to do Skinner + for Stolarz.
This is the best the Leafs have been in the Matthews Era and they are FINALLY getting good goaltending.
In what universe would they agree to that?

Great question.

Discounting the fact that he got hurt again last night I don't think you will find anyone in here against the idea of acquiring John Gibson at this point.
I wonder what it is that the org does not seem to see in him, that almost unequivocally, most other fanbases including ours do. Frustrating.

You've done nothing but say that over and over.

no, I've never once said that I want to keep the goalies the same

I've said all along that the problems run deeper than "getting a goalie, and we will be fine!" narrative that exists
getting a goalie isn't suddenly gonna stop all the breakaways and defensive blunders this teams gives up on a daily basis

Both Goalies need to be replaced and the team can do that, all that's stopping them is the willingness to make the move and face reality.

what's stopping them is the lack of good goalies on the market, the lack of assets to acquire a good goalie, and the cap space to fit in good goalie

They have Joseph Woll, are you not awake? Or is the Arvidsson blinders short circuiting your brain?

And you're doing your circular semantics again. Fair enough.

I'll state it plainly. Stuart Skinner and Calvin Pickard are not good enough, have not been good enough, will not be good enough, both need to be replaced with different options in goal.

Does that help clear up your confusion.

Stolarz is the better goalie and has the far better numbers. Are you asleep or do you not know how numbers work?

Its like saying, I wonder if they would trade us Marner for Nuge+

Oh thank god. So Vegas won't get any of them.

Eh Vegas still has one more kick at the deadline can in them. Cataford, Karki, Connelly, Uronen and Sapovaliv are all decent prospects. I can see two of them plus their 2027 1st being a competitive offer.

However we SHOULD be able to out-bid any Western Conference team if it's just about futures. One of Savoie, O'Reilly, Akey and our 2026 1st is good ammunition. The trick is we have to actually want to part with it.

Gibson was never the answer. Huge contract, huge amount of mileage, injury prone, first good year in ages, hasn’t won a playoff game in like 8 years. He was never the guy.
Wtf? then whats the answer? Mrazek? How is this a contract? It's 2 years and Anaheim will retain. I'd rather take him over the 2 shit stains in net right now thank you very much
