Gregor loves quoting the "rush chances" like they are some sort of guaranteed goal. Oilers are one of the best at preventing high danger chances- so obviously those "rush" opportunities aren't high danger (maybe a shot from distance). lol, when someone brought up his goals saved above expected on the GYB pod- Gregor actually said "I dont pay attention to that" lollllll

If his goalie take isn't dumb enough, he just tried to defend good ol Dusty Schwartz again just now. Spector is still the #1 in terms of being a clown in the Oilers media, but Gregor's a close 2nd.

Doesn’t Jarry have some decent numbers before this year? Penguins are also a mess. I think hes an upgrade on Skinner personally but I don’t know if hes worth the risk. I’d only consider him at 50%.

The rush chances are a legitimate issue, but it's not the reason the goalies stink.

The bad goals are going in off poorly tracked point shots, horrid rebound control, and poor positioning. When I think about the worst goals Skinner has let in lately, I don't know if more than a handful were off the rush. I can think of about a half dozen others though that weren't rush related.

No Jarry has been a disaster for a while now, though I'm happy to lay that at Dustin Schwartz' feet. Jarry is a buyout this summer.

For what it's worth, he hasn't been the goalie coach there since being fire in Edmonton, he had to refine his craft, though he was the development goalie coach in Minny before becoming the main guy in 2020, but yeah, Flip Gustavsson was terrible in Ottawa, then got to Minnesota and has become an NHL starter, can't help but thing Chabot had a bit to do with that.

The issue with Carlo is he kind of sucks this year. He is getting the 5th most ice time on average in the team, has the worst corsi of all their defenders, one of the worst sf%, dead even on goals for/against but rocking a team worst xGF% also gives up the most high danger chances on the team.

Boston is bad this year though. Carlo would be fine here under Coffey's systems.

If we could somehow get him and Bennington on this team, we'd be in pretty good shape heading into the playoffs.
