So we all know that we could use a goaltending boost, at least 1 top 6 winger and an upgrade on D. So far the media is saying that we are looking at adding some beef to the bottom 6. Staufer said 1-2 forwards. Who can we add that fits the bill and who gets shipped out? Frederic, Kostin and Tanev are all players that I'd have time for up front. Who else might fit the bill?

"Spencer Knight stops 41 of 42 and gets a standing ovation in his Chicago debut….Connor Bedard (year 2) got a starting goaltender before Connor Mcdavid (year 10)."

Oilers goalie Ben Scrivins 'The Professor ' stopped 59 shots. Didn't define him as a goalie.

Spencer still has upside. It probably still takes a couple of years for him to get there but i think he eventually ends up over .920 consistently.

Tkachuk is out until the playoffs because of a groin injury?... What on earth? How was Florida able to prove this??

Did the guy get too excited on pornhub or something?

I’d be interested in Nico Sturm as a 4th line C (Would aim to get him at 50% retention). Big body, fellow German for Drai, and automatic on the dot (I believe he’s around 64% on face offs this year which is insane). His face off ability could be huge for us in critical defensive zone situations.

From what I heard, he's a good skater too. Fits every criteria for a 4C that we need.

Scrivens might honestly been more talented than Stuart Skinner. His career got murdered by the Dallas Eakins train. I felt bad for him, getting traded to Edmonton at that exact point was pretty much the worst possible thing that could happen to any goalie.

I would love Sturm. My only issue is that a 3rd party would need to retain. So hopefully 1M is only a 6th or 7th round pick.

It’s really interesting to me that a guy who’s got that high a face off percentage only takes on average 5-6 face offs a game for the Sharks. Seems like they’ve got about 5-6 guys that regularly take face offs for them so that kinda leads me to believe he’s constantly being put in favorable, strong side face off positions. Since he’s also a lefty and we’ve already got Drai and Henrique sitting around 55% on draws from that side I wonder if Ty Dellandrea might be a more interesting target from the Sharks. Right shot who’s 53% on the draw this year and also throws a ton of hits which is something sorely lacking from the bottom 6 right now.

Not sure I'd be personally thrilled knowing he has only 1 goal in 48GP. Even if he can hit, I'd still want a guy in the bottom 6 that can chip in offensively, especially with how offensively lackluster our current bottom 6 is. Dellandrea seems meh. Less goals than Janmark is crazy lol.

assuming all this smoke about Kane is true and his plan is to come back before the playoffs, I just don't see what significant moves they will be able to make. If Kane's goal is to not get dealt, he could of picked a list of teams that would make it very difficult to move him. I don't think there will be much of a market for a 33 year old, who has been injured and had multiple surgeries, hasn't played or practiced in about 9 months, whose game was already declining, makes 5.125 million per year, and has one more year left on his deal. If Kane tells them he IS going to be ready for the playoffs, I expect a very quiet deadline for the Oil.

That’s fair, the Sharks are so offensively inept especially in their bottom 6 it’s hard to know who’s really the cause of it. Could be a case of getting a guy out of a situation and seeing him flourish a bit. I’ve always been a fan of his since his draft so I’ve definitely got a bias, just fascinates me that he went from a 30 point essentially rookie season two years ago where he looked to be a long term fixture as a 3C somewhere to where he’s at now.
