It's pretty bleak when we kind of have to look at scoring a min 4 per game to even have a chance at victory. Not guaranteed victory but a chance

Our goaltending is absolute shit

League GAA is 2.8. It's a 4-3 league my guy.

Yeah...and if we got a Top 4-D or a better goalie at last year's deadline you could say exactly the same thing but without the word "almost." And actually have a point.

Every fan has a right to be pissed and frustrated with the team and management right now, so go simp for Stan somewhere else...

I have pretty low expectations for tomorrow. The team is currently trash so certain players might have second thoughts about coming here. There also seems to be slim pickings which will mean that teams will need to overpay significantly in order to build out their rosters. I predict we don’t see nearly as much movement compared to previous years.

The goalie market is thin if you believe there are few upgrades, there are plenty, this tandem is quite poor

Yeah I don't buy #2, a chance to take the #1 job on a team that went to the finals last year is a hell of opportunity.

Literally 70 goalies are better than our current tandem according to the numbers. There's nothing slim about that.

That would be part of the GM's job- to convince players with trade protection that Edmonton is somewhere they want to play. If Stan isn't able to do that then he isn't the right person.

Correct, which is why Bowman needed to be far more active than he has been. He has the same exact holes we all knew existed at the start of the year to fill and only hours left to do it.

I don't know, that could be a factor but I think most would consider they've been a very good team most of the season and went to game 7 of the Finals last year as well

There are moves to be made, especially if Kane will remain on LTIR. I do agree not really any amazing options on the board, and a sellers market, so would have to be more of an 'off the board' like the Ekholm deal

I think the Oilers will land a good defenseman that no one seen coming. They have to right? If they are stick with our goalies they have to up grade the defense

He does, but you overrate both. They aren't coming for free but you don't toss up multiple firsts for them.

Dude, a top 4 d with a year left after this, that costs a low first. It has every deadline, at minimum. We paid a 2nd for Frederic, a 1st for Donato is in line with that value wise. That’s not overrating them, that’s the cost of guys like that.

Kane and Trent will be slotted into the middle 6. That will change how the Oilers play in the playoffs drastically

We want the team to improve their glaring holes, because we support the team.
Relying on Kane who has missed an entire year to be a huge player in the playoffs is not great. He is more likely to have a really rough time than he is to play well. Most guys do when they miss that much time.

I didn’t say nobody in the NHL had Edmonton on their NTC, just cited the players poll where literally no one had it as one of the top teams. If you have a 20 team NTC Edmonton might still be on there, but if you have 3 team NTC it’s not.
