Either they got the wrong players and they suck, they got the right players but they just have awful chemistry with our entire group. Or the coaching staff is doing a terrible job at getting them going with the roster.
It’s a problem either way and it needs to be addressed by replacing the players or f***, replacing the coach? One of those is easy.

Been like that every year. Its always a half assed approach. The Ekholm addition was great. Other than that, its always a unfulfilled feeling. Then the GM talks about how they wanted to give the guys a push and they went all in.
We kind of knew this which is why they were targeting a depth D. There probably isn't a top 4 like Provorov available, which is they went down the Klingberg path.
There is nothing we can do if top defensemen are available, but there are forwards available.

Bowman better have a plan. Maybe he does but he needs to wait until the off season, but I’m leaning towards firing his ass. Enough of these GMs past their prime.

Though it's not good enough on it's own, they've still done better than that this year.
We will have f*** all for cap next year. Our entire gained cap is going to Bouchard and Drai and almost all our forwards have NMC lol. This is our chance, next year is only going to be worse.

I think that's some bad speculation.
Trading a 2nd+ for Dumoulin and then trading away a better defenseman doesn't make sense.

Honestly even if part of a plan was executed it would be something. With the way McDavid is playing this year, is there something wrong with him? Injured? We don’t know the answer but they do. Maybe going all in isn’t smart. But can still make deals and fix holes now or for the future or move out contracts or collect assets.
Meanwhile we are trading assets for rentals. Don’t get me wrong, I think the team could use someone like Frederic. Maybe they resign him. We will see what they do but I hope we see some smart GM’ing in the next day.
Minor upgrades and depth players. We do probably add a depth D like this.
I'm saying there is probably no top 4 legit difference maker out there like Seth Jones.
