I'm sure he'll be ecstatic to come to Disneyland North and play out the rest of his career for ****y the Drunk Clown in Kanata while living in Carp (bit of a downgrade from LA).
I don't think any player other than bubble AHL players would be happy to be traded to Ottawa right now, but he has no say in the matter

Two young player/prospects I'd like the Sens to target are Philippe Myers D AHL PHI , and Maxime Comtois F QMJHL ANA.

Someone had brought up the idea of Myers for Ceci a while back in the thread. I don't know a lot about Myers and his value, but it fits with the rumour of PHI wanting to move a young D for a vet D, and the #boardinsider rumour @DJB put out there that the Sens want to move Ceci for a cheaper D, which an ELC NHL ready defender would fit.

I'd honestly do Ceci for Gudbranson at this point

I would do it. Myers would fit in here now. He's caught in a bit of a log jam in PHI.

People are discussing Philippe Myers. Tyler Myers would require alot more than Ceci

Tyler Myers is playing 3rd pair, making 5.5M, and is a UFA.

Jets have to re-sign Trouba, Connor and Laine so they certainly won't be re-signing Myers.

Either they simply let him go at the end of the season (possible if they make a run) or they flip him at the deadline for another D that makes less or pick/prospect. I don't think that Ceci is the right fit because he makes 4M but Myers doesn't have that much value, especially not as a rental.

This is actually completely backwards lol.

Phillippe Myers would require more than Ceci. He would require more than any u-24 player in our organization besides Tkachuk and Chabot. Tyler Myers, on the other hand, is an impending UFA OFD on pace for 20 points while playing bad defensive hockey on Winnipegs bottom pairing.

We could get Tyler Myers for very little and it would still be a really bad acquisition.

Yeah, I don't think Ceci gets you Phillipe Myers. He's legit one of the best D prospects out there and NHL ready. Ceci is a struggling 5/6 D man on a bloated contract. He's not worth much.

Nonsense. I would bet that every minor league player in the world would love the opportunity to play in the NHL & receive an NHL pay day & that includes for Ottawa.

At least you don’t have any bias.

I think we as Sens fans are undervalued Ceci and league wide i think he carries more value which is surprising. Not that i agree with it or anything.

The other issue is Dorion has shown in the past hes terrible at how he values players and making good trades.

Any info on the Sens scouting the Flyers and Blues?

Ceci having decent value is what I am expecting - teams overpay for young 'top 4' dmen and a change of scenery could do Ceci good

Is it?

Blues look like the exact team that needs to shed vets and bring in youth. I'm not interested in moving any of our kids for some placeholder vet just to maybe make a half-assed run for a wildcard.

I still find it hard to believe that no one has caught on and made a centralized site to report on scouts present at games, similar to how capfriendly exists. Seems like info that would generate a lot of clicks, and clicks=revenue.

ANA, TOR, and VAN scouted both our games on the 6th against MTL and the 9th against BOS. I couldn't find NSH or PIT games on twitter.

TOR has been at a lot of our games if I recall. I wonder if Ceci is a fit there. Do we still trade within the division? Zack Smith seems like he might be a fit at 4C there if we held back salary.

That is exactly my point - I would not have 'rebuilt' this team with star players on the roster and an abundance of ready now prospects

players are not goiing to sign here because our Owner is a piece of **** and our GM is horrendous. We also have a bad coach - THAT IS ON THE ORGANIZATION that players will not sign here.

I have absolutely zero confidence in this organizations ability to rebuild effectively - or do anything effectively. That is the problem and that is the point. Fans are allowed to criticize the organization and they should - Ottawa has a lot to be criticized for.

What we did last summer was keep the same terrible coaching staff and trade two of our best players for mediocre returns. While keeping AHL plugs on the roster. You rebuild to get that high end 1st round pick - thats the damn point of a rebuild - turn over the roster - lose - get high end draft picks lol

"we should rebuild because franchise players don't wanna play here" news flash - thats a ****ing problem and that problems stems from the top. What are we rebuilding towards- the continual turn over of star players?

you get over sipping the kool-aid and wake the hell up to what is happening

Yeah, that’s one way of looking at things I guess.
