HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #93: Y'all got any more of those 2nd line centers out there?

I think Habs end up with Granlund or Crosby as 2C.
I don't see Crosby happening but it would be absolutely incredible for us if it did. On the ice of course. Demidov playing with Crosby...
However, what it would do for our core to play 2-3 years with one of the greatest leaders in NHL history would be invaluable...

FWIW, Pagnotta wrote that Mason Marchment is on the market.
A blind man could see that coming. Dallas needs cap space badly and Marchment is the guy they’ll have to sacrifice. I mentioned that a few weeks ago, and I wouldn’t be against picking him up, he adds some much needed size and snarl up front while being good for 20 goals. Takes a lot of penalties though which MSL wouldn’t like. A 6’5, 215 lb guy that can score 20 goals? We could use that big time and we have the cap space to make it work easily.

Send Dallas some picks and make it happen Kent. A futures package is all Dallas can hope for at this point, they’re dealing from a position of weakness.

They have only 5M$, with 16 player in the lineup so they need 4-7 just to full there lineup… without Benn, Duchene, Granlund are all UFA

Dallas are in a world of trouble this summer and it's should be a prime target for KH

4.548 millions of Cap space only.
An offer sheet of $2.3 millions on Bourque (That's a 3rd round pick) could be enough to screw Dallas.

It might be Seguin who's available as they will be in trouble next year too when it's time to sign both Robertson and Harley.

As for Marchment......if true, I bet Carey's Price contract could help them fight one more year with Seguin and everyone else. That's a ton of value right there for them.

I didn't necessarily mean Danault specifically just a player of his mold. Lundell would be the perfect player for this team but I really doubt he is available based on how important he is to the Panthers

If they re-sign Bennett they might be tight money-wise and maybe they might be intested in moving Lundell? Who knows.

Not centers but if we move away from the big fishes, I think signing both Ehlers and Boeser for example would be fantastic. It would add tons of scoring depth to our line up.

The irony of Ehlers is that the Habs might need him if they didn't have Laine.

Kapanen for Sam Steel? Solid 3rd line centre option. They save a bit.

Otherwise no one wants their shitty defencemen like Dumba and Lyubushkin. Only Wyatt Johnston and Jason Robertson of the high earners up front that don’t have trade protection but I can’t see them trading either. I doubt Seguin waives.
I'm not a fan of Kapanen and hope they move him before the rest of the league sees there's nothing there, but I'm not moving him for Steel. In a deal for Marchment, sure.

Sam Steel is a meh player, but he's got nice speed.
How much more than Matheson and Beck would it take to land JJ Peterka? They need a LD and center depth, especially like Beck. Maybe Mailloux extra?
A lot. You're basically sitting at and I'll be generous here a 2nd and a decent prospect when it goes to offering Matheson and Beck.

Also, keep in mind Buffalo has Dahlin and Power who would play over him and Matheson's value drops to 0.

If he is the Habs need to be all over that. 20-20 middle 6 winger with size and plays a nassssssssty game.

He should be target #1.
Don't they have a bajillion LHD and no good RHD?

Dahlin, Power, Samuelsson, and Byram are all LH (even if some can play the right side).
Yeah they do, but thats coming from the main boards Sabres "needs" so what do I know.

I'm just trying to get rid of Mike while getting awesome talent to go with it.

Mailloux might be enticing too. They need a minute munching vet, and Power is probably the only D in the league thats worse than Matheson lmao.

After the brain dead playoffs he just had, no wonder. Really cooled me on acquiring him. Im beginning to think he's being bounced around despite his size because he's an idiot.

Fun fact: Mason Marchment has historically been a playoff no show in terms of production and performance.

Reminder: being big does not mean a player is a playoff warrior by birthright.

Lundell is ready for the 2nd line, they are ready to let Bennett go imo.
