I'm a big fan of Kyrou, but he sucks in the dot and has been a winger for the longest while. I'd love to see simply with Demidov, personally.

He could be a play driver from the wing, like what Gorton alluded to, with another player at C (maybe the last hey day for Dach in experiment 6.0?), but he is currently St-Louis' #1 RW and I don't think they will get rid of him for futures, or without getting a serious D back (Guhle?).

Only reason I actually imagine St-Louis moving Kyrou (who is 27) is to free up his 8.125M in Cap hit to sign an UFA like Marner, or Bennett.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hughes caught everyone with their pants down, like when he selected Slafkovsky at #1 OA, instead of Wright, then moved Romanov and traded for Dach right after.

Only, this time, I just hope it isn't for a project like Dach and that it lands us an established 2C, even he is still progressing and has more runway towards his ceiling.

A confirmed 20+ goal scorer with 50-60 points already in a season, or two (preferably), with room to get even better, let's say.

Otherwise, I'd try to sign a 2nd line winger as an UFA (or via a trade) and I would target the 28-yr-old Zacha in a trade, to use as a stop gap 2C and an eventual 3C.

He had the chance to sign last summer and decided to go elsewhere and chased term. We are not in a position to give term. So too bad so sad. That boat has sailed.

Nothing against the player. We can certainly use someone like him on the come up. His use for is though is for the next 1-2 years not 4.

I feel the same. KH will go off the TSN chart and get a guy we will all be surprised.

Thoughts on acquiring Elias Pettersson? Overpaid, injuries, and had a bad year, but is still a young #1 C. Suzuki and Pettersson would be a contender 1-2 tandem.

If our medical staff says his knee will be fine and the other problems make him cheaper to acquire them sure. He is incredible defensively as well so as long as he can put up 80 points his contract won't be too bad.

Would have to move out Laine somewhere for cap reasons but 2nd line LW I'm far easier to acquire than a top 6 C.

Lundell isn't getting moves no matter what. He's a crucial part of their team. They will manage to keep Bennett and Ekblad and move other pieces as needed. Lundell is there for a long while

At some point teams need to make sacrifices if they want to keep contending in a cap world. Keep in mind the Panthers are playing Rodrigues/Boqvist in the top 6 and Marchand who is a rental. They don’t exactly have depth on the wings moving forward.

Yes in general but right now this team has no real pressure to do so : 19m to sign 3 forwards 2 Dmen and a goalie for a 23 man roster. They may not be able to retain both Ekblad and Bennett but next year cap increases and Bobrovsky s contract comes to an end, I.e. really no reason to sacrifice Lundell for cap.

We better be, I would go as far as saying both should be in play. That said, I'm looking for long term players in the mid 20's, a top 6 center obviously and a top 3 D if possible. The only exception for the center would be an old Crosby, I am really good with that!!
