HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #93: Y'all got any more of those 2nd line centers out there?

I mean he finished the POs with 37% and the season at 42%. He's terrible. Also isn't good defensively.
And the year before he was 46.5%.

Also plenty of quality centers are in that ~45% range. This year Kadri 46.2%, Malkin 45.8%, Eichel 45.6%, Cooley 44.7%,, Byfield, was 44.1%, Jack Hughes is at 37.6%, etc...

And your wrong about his defensive game.

You aren't getting Alex Tuch for this crappy Value. Rasmus A isn't getting traded for that. You aren't getting a top 5 pick, much less top 10 pick for this nothing value either. It's honestly amazing how people want to get stuff but offer nothing of value to the other teams
It is insane indeed, glad I’m not the only one calling out thoses.

Im not. He's not good. Its the same conuundrum as the Caufield is good one. Theyre getting better but theyre likely never going to be "good".

46% isnt good especially since he played like 20 games at C, overall body suggest he's terrible at faceoffs, something you can't really afford your 4C to be bad at. Malkin ? Eichel ? Theyre 100 points guy, you live with it.

Also, he's our best forechecker. Wasting him low on the defensive scheme is dumb, he should be one of the first player in.

Here's Newhook's most common linemates in 2023-2024, as you can see it was much more then 20 games at C.

But I'm sure you're not also wrong about the other stuff

I don't know where to post things anymore... we need a general post season thread.

Marinoa and Wilde doing report card podcast on the captain with the biggest dick. When you look at points and plus/minus compared the the next point getters on the team and that fact that he got all these points while playing against other teams toughest and most skilled lines, it really puts it into perspective how incredibly good he is. Imagine if while he is still in his prime there is a second and third lines that can score...

What a trade that was! Bergy da man!

He's been Matheson-bad defensively for two years now, he's not going to cost that much.

He's also not really a fit beyond being a RD who plays big minutes and might be available.
This too.

When it seemed like he might be available, watched Calgary a bit more and not interested in the cost to acquire him, nor the the cost to extend him.

Not only that you now have 3 d 6 ft and under.

Andersson plays a bit more in your face game but come on, the big boys still beat him in a physical battle. Not a great setup for success.

Cuylle is such an obvious target. Gorton pick, previously coached by Letowski, and brings so much of what we need. Big, hits, fights, scores the majority of his points around the net, good skater, reliable defensively, and doesn’t take a lot of penalties. Anderson won’t be around forever. Is he worth losing our 2026 first?

Another I’d like is Foerster. Big, elite defensively, and can score. Doubt PHI move him but he’s had some tensions with their staff previously.

I like Foerster, his play around the net is Perry-lite. With that said, I think we need speed. The wingers are all incredibly slow.

We need size AND speed.

Haven't paid attention to him much, but that's a player the Habs need.

If not him, Brazeau is a discount, net front presence. He's got good top speed for a big guy but he f***ing accelerates like a fully load transport starting on an incline.

Will Cuylle is a wish list player, too.

If this team acquired another soft and/or sub 6ft player who doesn't have a ton of skill, or is a cap dump, or being flipped I'm losing it.

No reason for Philly and NyR to trade any of thoses two…but yea they would look good on the Habs.

Wait are you saying Andersson is sub 6 feet?

He's 6'1 200lbs+

Wonder what Buffalo would be willing to trade for Mike Matheson, one of Dach/Newhook/Laine, Luke Tuch and Cayden Primeau

Who on Buffalo roster do you have in mind?

They already have Dahlin/Power/Byram at LD, so no need for Matheson.

Their wingers are Thompson/Peterka/Benson/Tuch/Quinn.
Kulich/Norris/McLeod/Ostlund at C.

They have no use for Laine, especially at his salary, and all their centers are better than Dach and Newhook.

They also have UPL and Levi for their tandem, both better than Primeau.

They’re not good trading partners, they want/need the same thing as us : Top 6 C, RD, size and thoughness. And they have the same things as us to trade : Picks and prospects.

I think We’ll be competing with them instead of trading with them lol.

Yeah, I really like Foerster. Philadelphia is desperate for centers, so I wonder if we can swing a Foerster for Dach trade? He's another RHS, but he's not the greatest skater.

I can see someone trying an offer sheet for Cuylle if Rags don't get him done by July 1st.

How about Kotkaniemi as a defensively responsible big body C between Demidov and whoever plays the other wing?

What would he cost?

KK has no offensive game. For example, Christian Dvorak has the exact same stat line of 12goals and 22assist on the year in 25-26.
