Pretty sure HuGo force him to get surgery or he gets buy out. He is useless if injured and I would even say a negative. Kills a lot of plays and most of all kills momentum.
I love playoffs Dvorak to be honest. And he was pretty good the second half of the season. 3c worthy imo.
That “toughness” has to be able to score … is Beauvillier big & tough? Mangiapanni? Strome? These are the guys doing the damage crashing the net for rebound goals.

There’s a reason Habs were the second youngest team in NHL history to make the playoffs by 0.2 yrs behind Gretzky Oilers….. NHL playoff success requires experience… it’s been baptism by fire for nearly 50% of this roster
To be clear, Reinbacher will play with the Habs next season unless he is still injured.

I definitely think Bennett and Ekblad are key acquisitions for us and exactly what we need.

Ekblad's body is done. He played over 70 games once since 2019 and was suspended for illegal drug usage he claim he took to help come back from injury this season (i.e. he didn't clear them with the team docs).
Does the team need more grit, yes. Does it need more goon? no.

I'm ok with signing UFA, but not these two or Duchene. Bennett just had his most productive season ever, which is barely better the the ones Gally had before he sign his 6x6. They both play a physical and taxing style. The odds are that Bennett will break down in a similar way as Gally did. Bennett at 5x6 I would be ok with because you can slide him down to the 3rd line at some point, but he'll never say yes to that. So if the price is 8+x8... then this is a bad contract. And this is the time where you need to be patient!!!! Giving out bad contract at the wrong time will block the team long term success. Toronto did that and they struggle for so long to find cap space to address their playoff needs. We should learn from their mistake.
