Cap going up. They'll be good.they need coin to pay knives/fork
If we packaged both 1sts how far could we move upShort answer, yes!
According to this chart, the Habs could climb from #16 OA to around #10-12 OA if they include #40 OA
I would offer up Laine + Xhekaj for Lafreniere this summer
Get Horvat or Bennett.
Get Ehlers.
More because Lou said he doesnt believe in trading his top players for picks/prospects.It will. Especially that he has an NTC so Horvat would have to accept one.
You can offer but why would they accept this?I would offer up Laine + Xhekaj for Lafreniere this summer
More because Lou said he doesnt believe in trading his top players for picks/prospects.
St Louis trading Kyrou would be like us trading Suzuki. I see zero reason why they'd do that.Yes.
Trade targets: Horvat & Kyrou
UFA targets: Bennet & Ehlers
If Lou is still the GM of that team this summer, there is something seriously wrong with their ownership. I can’t imagine doubling down with such a mediocre roster with zero in the pipeline.More because Lou said he doesnt believe in trading his top players for picks/prospects.
Ya trade targets is more like Stamkos and Danault, nothing stellar.St Louis trading Kyrou would be like us trading Suzuki. I see zero reason why they'd do that.
If Minnesota sign both, they might need to move some cap space. $22,5m with only 15 players signed for next season and Rossi is apparently asking for $9m ( I read it in here so might not be true).Nelson is going to the wild. Boeser might end up going to the wild also. But Nelson is all but a sure thing to get signed by the Minnesota wild to return home.
That's a lot of contract for 45 pointsI would offer up Laine + Xhekaj for Lafreniere this summer
No idea - all I know is Dolan has already started frothing at the mouth and said the team will retool on the fly.You can offer but why would they accept this?
Bric à Brock.Brock Nelson or Brock Boeser?
Laine for Laf straight up. No need to include X.No idea - all I know is Dolan has already started frothing at the mouth and said the team will retool on the fly.
Laviolette was supposed to be the last resort for saving private Lafreniere… it hasn’t worked 3G in last 30GP start of a long term $7M deal.
Laine’s “name brand” will sell in that market
IMO, he needs a change of scenery & team culture.
Man I'd love to have Cuylle on this team.
That would just be like Gorton trolling Drury... I like itI would offer up Laine + Xhekaj for Lafreniere this summer
mitch and ?Get Horvat or Bennett.
Get Ehlers.
Bennet is a dream.. no tax stateYes.
Trade targets: Horvat & Kyrou
UFA targets: Bennet & Ehlers
mitch and ?
Is my goal for them
That would be a mistake. I don't care how his limited play time shows up at the end of the season. He was shit at the beginning and I don't expect culture clubbers like him to change.Dvo has been playing gutsy hockey. I want to keep him.

Draft pick valuation charts differ depending on team, and get refined each year with more analytics, and how different scouting staff see each draft class.
Long story short, there are no absolutes.
But if we look at some of the charts available that were put together by semi-credible sources (Examining the value of NHL Draft picks - Sound Of Hockey), picks 16 (Calgary's) and 17 (currently where ours would land) would have close to the same value combined as the #4 or #5 overall pick in a vacuum.
With Pittsburgh's 2nd-round pick added, we could maybe even get up to #3 if a team elects to go for quantity of picks vs. quality.
Those equations rarely hold up 1-to-1 though, and teams will generally put a premium on quality and not want to downgrade their high picks too much. So we rarely see a purely quantity-for-quality trade at the top of the first-round.
Depending on who's available to draft after the midway point of the top-10, it might make sense for us to move and get a second-line center of the future (Caleb Desnoyers).
