HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

Dylan Cozens would’ve been a great addition due to his size and handiness and position. He could’ve covered for Laine, he could’ve been paired with Slaf for a Géants line, he could’ve been used all throughout the top9.

Josh Norris is not a particularly valuable player and this whole thing about saying the Habs didn’t have the pieces to acquire Cozens is bogus.

Anyway it’s not a complaint as much as it is a question of finding another player who checks all the boxes.
First of all according to Sabres fans Cozens is mediocre. They say the 2nd line is much better with McLeod centring it. Kulich is probably better than him as well. Second dumbo Adams wanted an NHL player and not all futures. Norris is a glass body and a stupid acquisition but that was his choice. Habs had no NHL ready forwards to give him much less centres.

Newhook , Dach

If they want to keep Bennett, Ekblad and Marchand they might have to. If the Habs include a young centre like Kapanen or Beck, they could be enticed.

Personally I’d keep Lundell and not bring back Marchand.
They wont keep Ekblad with the Jones acquisition. Marchand was most likely a rental too, he didnt cost much to acquire, so no big deal for them if he walks.

I would think they’d bring back Ekblad. Jones cannot be trusted as the top pairing RD and they have nothing else on the right side.

Ekblad most likely gonna hit the bank, I’m really not convinced they sign him long term, we will see. Anyway there’s just no reason for them wanting to keep Marchand instead of Lundell. It’s not like they paid premium for the Rat.

You realize this is Florida and player's have been taking cheap deals right?? Marchand was always a rental for them. Lundell isn't going anywhere because He's exactly what the head coach of Florida loves.

Florida isn't looking to get picks or young players / prospect. They are a win now Championship team. They aren't going to be enticed by anything to move Lundell. They aren't keeping Ekblad either, and if they do, he will take a cheap deal.

Habs would have drafted #1 oa again!!!!

And everyone would have realized faster that the team sucks...
I mean if you injured Datsyuk or Zetterberg in 2008 the Wings don't come close to the cup. It was literally two forwards carrying the entire forward depth with Lidstrom and Rafalski on the backend.

Oilers are going to get swept in the first round if McDavid and Drai are injured.

Florida have yet to miss the finals since trading for Tkachuk.

Habs went from finals to last place subtracting Price and Weber.

Most teams suck when you take away their best player(s).
