Hes right handed tho, we should target a left shot centerShould we target Barzal for our two 1st plus a prospect.
You'll only succeed in pissing off Lou. I'd advise against it.Should we target Barzal for our two 1st plus a prospect.
I mean I'd propose both 1sts, + Mailloux and Roy for BarzalYou'll only succeed in pissing off Lou. I'd advise against it.

I recommend not posting this on the main boards.I mean I'd propose both 1sts, + Mailloux and Roy for Barzal
Roll out Suzuki line for defensive matchups ala barkov and then roll offensive dynamo line of
Demidov - Barzal - Laine following
That's a lot for a 2nd line center. Horvat was traded for Beauvilier, Raty and a 1st. Pretty much the equivalenent of Heineman, Beck and a 1st.Should we target Barzal for our two 1st plus a prospect.
Two first in this draft is nothing over-enticing. It's basically 2 futures for which you don't even know if they'll surpass an AHL career. That's a lot for a 2nd line center. Horvat was traded for Beauvilier, Raty and a 1st. Pretty much the equivalenent of Heineman, Beck and a 1st.

I thought there was only one year remaining on barzal contract there's 3 so different situation still i personally think he's a bit overrated.
Would love to see this along with signing Ehlers (Laine’s buddy). They could use his speed and scoring.Ryan O'Reilly and his 2 years left on his contract would be the perfect stop gap center.
Hughes already traded with Nashville.
Our window is not 5 years though it's going to be a 10-12 years window, Got to plan ahead we'll need help when Suzuki will get older and Hutson/Demidov will be in the middle of their prime. I think it's a bit early to trade all our picks for a guys who's been dealing with injuries for a few years and have been up and down. If we gonna trade future i'd like the player returning to not be over 26.Two first in this draft is nothing over-enticing. Ive said it before but a massive package to get ROR and FF9 would make us insta-contenders.Ryan O'Reilly and his 2 years left on his contract would be the perfect stop gap center.

You'll need to trade roster players for that to happen. Our window is not 5 years though it's going to be a 10-12 years window, Got to plan ahead we'll need help when Suzuki will get older and Hutson/Demidov will be in the middle of their prime. I want to see Laine with Demidov. He needs a playmaker on his line to be effective. Whos gonna pass him the puck if hes on a line with newhook and beckWould love to see this along with signing Ehlers (Laine’s buddy). They could use his speed and scoring.
CC - NS - Slaf
Ehlers - ROR - Demi
Newhook - Beck/Kapanen - Laine
Anderson - Evans - Gally
Heineman

Then i'd go with a less expensive stop gap. We are not winning the cup until Demidov and Hutson have a few years of experience. By that point Barzal will be on the wrong side of 30. We need guys like Susuzki you will still be in their 20ies when Hutson will be 23 and Demidov 22.You'll need to trade roster players for that to happen.
Expecting to win once before Hutson and Demidov got a few years of exp is foolish.Winning once is the priority, lets see after.
I agree. Ideally they patch up with the UFA market and keep all their assets, but that's going to be hard regardless. Maybe they can trade Matheson mid-season next season for a stop gap also. Then i'd go with a less expensive stop gap. Finding a center is always hard you can ask Marc BergevinI agree. Ideally they patch up with the UFA market and keep all their assets, but that's going to be hard regardless. Maybe they can trade Matheson mid-season next season for a stop gap also.
You want us to have the softest offense in the league?! Josh is not going anywhere, don’t need a late first anyways. Can the "reborn" Josh Anderson have some suitors and fans in the NHL trade market or will Kent Hughes burn his mulligan and fail to strike on this opportunity for a second time?
I'm thinking VAN might be interested in adding some beef to their middle6.
TOR will have too much cap space to be challenged on Knies. Tavares, if he stays, will get less than his current cap hit of 11m.
Hutson and Demidov are not the average player. The 09 pens had Malkin, Staal and Letang all on less than 3 years, same for Chicago.Expecting to win once before Hutson and Demidov got a few years of exp is foolish.

Pens won the cup in Crosby's 4th season and Malkin's 3rd season and if we are being honest that was one of the youngest core to win a cup. That would means us winning in 27-28 (Hutson's 4th season and Demidov's 3rd season). By that point Barzal would be 31 and this is the best case scenario.Hutson and Demidov are not the average player.
