HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

Lapierre is a guy that is probably likely to get moved as Caps have so much talent in the roster as well as a wave of younger highly touted prospects coming up (Leonard, Protas, Parascak, Cristall), so I think he's a good target and I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him, but I'm not sure you can consider him a solution to anything. He's kind of stuck in the AHL and we don't know if he will be an NHL regular, let alone an answer to the 2C position.

People seem to want a 2C, and Lapierre is not an established player to be that. I view him pretty similar to Kapanen at this moment actually. Now someone like Rossi could be that 2C guy, and apparently Minnesota might want to move him. But of course that would be much more expensive.

Another Lapierre-like player I'd take flyer on is Chinakhov (yes, winger). He's had injury issues and seemingly fallen out of favor in CBJ, but a change of scenery could be good. Also Demidov would have a fellow Russian on the team next season to make him more comfortable.

Going into the McKenna and Dupont years it would be good to identify teams that might want to do firesales. I'm thinking of a team like Nashville. Someone like Forsberg could be available. Imagine how much better the team would be if Laine was replaced with Forsberg. Another could be NYI and Barzal.

If the Bruins decide to do a full rebuild, maybe a guy like Zacha? Would they even trade with the Habs? I wonder if we have the pieces to get a guy like Eriksson-Ek, only 24 pts in 42 this season, but they have no centers…

Answer the question :)

Two unprotected first round picks + Mesar or something?

How about: Slafkovsky for Crosby? Is that an overpay or bound to blow in our face? I’m just thinking in terms of what is the most painful trade I’m willing to swallow to acquire Crosby. I wouldn’t want to sell Slaf any time soon otherwise because his upside is undeniable (even though I feel he’s a Zubrus-like oaf who is unlikely to hit it, I wouldn’t risk it).
So you are trading your 21 years old, 1st overall, 6'4 power forward, soon to be a 70-80 points beast, for a 38 years old with maybe 2 years left in his tank ? Lol

That's awful assets management. Slaf is not going anywhere. And if you trade Slafkovsky, you will need a new winger just like Slafkovsky that you just traded away. It makes absolutely no sense.

Caufield will be gone way before Slafkovsky regardless of what you think. We all know that you're a Slaf hater, but come on... that's possibly one of the worst trade proposal I've seen in a long time, geeezz

I asked a question to spur a discussion and specifically noted that it could be an overpay and that I'm not advocating for the move. You should read comments before spouting off a reply.

Try again.

You say you wanted to start a discussion and now that he has given you a valid discussion you complaining ?
What's the most you'd give to acquire Crosby? Would you trade Slafkovsky for Crosby?

It's a hypothetical question, not even a "proposal". Hope this helps.

would do both 1sts this year, next years first and Beck.
Three first round picks + good forward prospect.

I think this is a massive payment but would probably get the job done. If pushed, I would do this trade as well (but would prefer to give up one fewer first round pick and throw in another prospect instead).

Why not a trade with Vegas? These guys are trade happy. Brett Howden could be an interesting add as would Barbashev

The Knights might be interested in a players trade. They’d also be the kind of team being REALLY interested in Xhekaj if MSL doesn’t want to play him. There’s also Hertl though I don’t know about that one

The Knights already have too many LDs and theyre probably looking to trade Nicolas Hague, whos basically a more established version of Xhekaj.

Eriksson ek is wild Franchise C and Top C and no trade Clause. Wild will never ever trade him especially because they are a team with No C and a team trying to win playoff games and championship. The only reason for his low output is because He's been injured. he's been out more than 6 week and more now. He has been injured off and on all year.

People are able to look up Crosby's age but they can't look up that he has 86 points in 75 games this year while playing on a garbage team.
Doesn't mean he won't drop off a cliff next season or the one after. He is too old to offer much for. A 2025 1st and a couple of B prospects is as far as they should go.

The injury has nothing to do with only getting 24 pts in 42 games unless he was playing injured. He is not a franchise centre but he is the Wild's #1 centre. Don't see how they can move him.

Franchise C??? Hes a 60 pts C.

I don't think he would be cheap but trading 3 first and Beck is total stupidity i would love to have Crosby he fits the time frame until Hague become's our #2 center but not at these stupid price.
There's no promise that Hage becomes anything. He's a college athlete right now. Better prospects than him have failed.

If you would love to have Crosby, what is the MOST you'd trade to acquire him?

I'd expect Crosby to be an adequate second line center for two years, and maybe a third line center the year after that. He's clearly in great shape now, and it's known that he's been taking exceptional care of himself since he was a teenager.

I wouldn't trade what he's worth i'm the stick to the plan guy don't rush the rebuild unless a great deal comes up so a great deal for Crosby will insult all Penguins fans its better to go ufa if possible and yes Hague is still a ????? but i think he will be very good.
