HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

I don't disagree that more likely than not he finishes out his career there, but doing so will objectively hurt the organization long term going forward.

Their window is closed, so hanging onto guys like Crosby and Malkin will just ensure that they stay in no man's land with 2 huge drafts coming up with franchise altering prospects.
But those two players are good enough that if you add solid young players around them, that they can have a good season as a team. Not contend, but at least be decent.

Remember this is a franchise that was on the cusp of being relocated until they won that lottery. Crosby means a lot more than a few prospects and picks. He puts butts in the seats and that’s enough for some organizations.

dude this is a bad point. Franchises don;t move on from a historic player just to draft someone. You're wrong. Crosby wants to retire a Penguin and most likely will
Wrong. it depends on the GM and the owner. Gretzky was moved, Kane was moved, Orr was dumped. Thornton and Marleau let go,
It likely won't happen unless Crosby asks to be moved .

True. Unless they know the league will fix the lottery so they get Mckenna they won't initiate a trade.

This is so beyond different in every way. You can't bring in something that happened decades and decades back in regard to Gretzky and Orr. Lol dude. Kane, Thorton and Marleau aren't on same level as Sid, try again dude. legend like Crosby with their contracts / no trade also aren't getting moved and he's not waiving / asking out. So, it doesn't matter.

Kane was responsible for what - 3 Cups. He was just as important to Chicago as Sniveling Sid was to the Penguins. And Toews was nowhere near as good as Malkin. Level is irrelevant but Sniveling Sid is going nowhere unless he asks to be moved.

and Kessel was nowhere near as good as Hossa, and Letang was nowhere near as good as Keith, and they didnt have a Hjammer or a Seabrook and Crawford was better than any goaltenders the Pens had.

I would take Stammer for his remaining 3 years since it's not a 35+ contract, depending on the cost. I would stay away from Zib though, that's an albatross for sure. 5 years left.

Also, I'm only doing that if both Bennett and Duchene are no longer options.
Duchene is really my number one target this summer. We have 21 million in cap space next season and we don't have to lose picks or a prospect.

Patrick Kane is one level below Sid.

“Sniveling Sid”

Grown man calls one of the best players in the history of the sport that and he can’t even write snivelling correctly

He said hed be a Pen at least until the end of this season. It’s clearly open ended.
What’s the most you’d give to get him?

Imagine you’re in a bidding war with a conference or division rival and it’s going round by round. Winner gets Crosby.

Demidov for Sid? Surely not. So what’s the ceiling then?

I have one in mind but people will throw tomatoes and other rotting fruit at me.

Yes, but when Chicago won their Cups, they had to get past the LA Kings.

One can argue that in the cap era, 2009-2014 were the hardest years to win Cups.

With Mysak, it’s seem like a very good deal !
I missed that one. At first, instead of Mailloux, it said Baron. Then I told it that Baron had been traded, so it suggested Jordan Harris. When I told it that Harris had been traded, in finally suggested Mailloux. Remember this if you are a kid trying to get ChatGPT to do your homework! LOL
