Please no Hutson on the right... Stop being a f***ing welfare franchise and spend assets, jesus it's infuriating.
He looks good on the right, tbh.

I'm usually in agreement with not having guys playing their offside on D but Hutson is one of those guys where it doesn't matter. The great thing about this is while eventually I'd like to see him over on the left, it gives us additional time to find the perfect partner for him. Please no Hutson on the right... I don't like him getting the puck on his backhand in the D zone boards, opens up higher chance for him being trucked. It's not a good long term solution and would not want to do it in playoffs where everyone finishes their checks. He might avoid 9/10 but those 1/10 extra hits add up on smaller guys.I'm usually in agreement with not having guys playing their offside on D but Hutson is one of those guys where it doesn't matter. Percentage goes up for sure but he's so good at making the play and then shielding himself, it will be a very rare occurrence he'll get destroyed on the wall imoI don't like him getting the puck on his backhand in the D zone boards, opens up higher chance for him being trucked.

just hope he does not get hurtI watch it every time, it's actually one of my favorite things to watch during a game. Players will try to hit Hutson long after he's moved the puck, it's borderline interference and in a lot of cases, full on interference, but he literally never gets hit. They end up in the glass while Hutson is now trailing the play and activating.
Habs have plenty of "potential" in their cupboard, what they need is good young vet NHL assets if the plan is really to compete next season.not really sure for centers but for RDs we should check on Nemec and Clarke 2 young players not getting playing time and with huge potentiel
HuGo will overpay for 2C if need be, which slots Newhook in the role he was acquired for … 3C.I have a feeling he might end up staying in Montreal.
The way Hutson has been playing on the right i'm starting to wonder if we really need a RHD
Guhle-Hutson
Matheson-Carrier
Xhekaj/Struble-Reinbacher
Put all our eggs into a 2nd line center.

I know, that's what I said.It does matter, no matter how great he is.
I'd agree if he was struggling. But he's not.
But long term, I agree that they need to get RD's. Hopefully Reinbacher and/or Mailloux make it out of camp and the RD can be Reinbacher, Carrier & Mailloux. And the LD can be Hutson, Guhle & Matheson with Struble and Xhekaj if one or two aren't used as trade bait.
That would be his last before having to clear waivers though.I hope I'm wrong but I have 0 faith in Mailloux in the short term. I think he needs another year down in Laval.
I'd be surprised if he's not traded this offseason.I hope I'm wrong but I have 0 faith in Mailloux in the short term. I think he needs another year down in Laval.
He doesn't have that much value, not sure why you're expecting movement that early.I'd be surprised if he's not traded this offseason.
I imagine Sabres match easily in McLeod. How high would you go?What would guys think about OS to Cuylle or Ryan McLeod this summer??
I assume Clarke would be worth quite a bit. Havent followed his career in the NHL but hes gonna need PP time to be happy. Is there a trade to be made around this:
Matheson + picks/prospects (+maybe Anderson) for Danault + Clarke ?
Clarke would fit nicely on our right side while Danault could be a 2C for 2 years while we wait for Hage.
In my opinion he is a risk of being a diminishing asset in the same way Barron was. On the other hand, he is still a legitimate prospect based on his two professional seasons, raw tools and draft pedigree. He doesn't have that much value, not sure why you're expecting movement that early.
I don't disagree, but I think we can still give him a fair shot beginning of next season. If the team is not confident he can slot on the roster in time, they can always pull a trigger at the TDL, when the value of players is inflated. In my opinion he is a risk of being a diminishing asset in the same way Barron was. This might be the last moment to make him a part of a pick + prospect transaction to improve the roster. The management has a fresh example in Carrier trade of getting value out of a risky prospect by making a trade before it's too late. I think they will do just that with Mailloux.
Can you name this mythical 2C we can get for the picks? Why not just package one of the picks for a 2C that can help now? If none of the picks are sexy.
I don't think management will be keen on using up both of those picks unless there are some players they really want.
Not sure who the picks are but I'd like to have some middle six skilled grinders who can fill that role on the second and third line (and a 2C, and some RD).
