HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
    • Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

In the meantime, feel free to join our Discord Server
Lots of offer including Kapanen and Beck but these guys IMO are spare parts, nothing special kind which every team has. I doubt these fetch us anything of value via trade but we've seen more surprising so who knows.

Yep..to get something big you have to give

Reason why I propose Guhle above.

To get a real top 6 center you have to give a good d.

..and a good D is not ..Mailloux..

No they aren't. They are at least if not more valuable than Heineman was when we acquired him in the Toffoli trade. One of them and a first is pretty good value for a 2nd line player.

Some players who we might sign?
Ryan Lindgren LD could be useful and affordable ant $3.5 mil. Averages 19 mins per game.
Ivan Provorov could be a good addition at $6 mil averages 23 mins per game.
Aaron Ekblad could be that missing horse to play 23mins a game. He might be costly at $7.5 mil
Mason Appleton as replacement for Armia at $3 mil.
Another horse Neal Pionk but will be at $6.5 mil. Averages 23 mins a game
Sam Bennett this guy fits the MTL plan moving forward $7.5 mil 6 years will convince him.
Lastly Vladislav Gavrikov is a horse averages 22-23 mins a game. Maybe at $5.5 mil.

Of the players I listed Lindgren, Appleton, Bennett are good fit with what we have. Lindgren replaces Savard, Appleton replaces Armia and Bennett gives us that missing 2nd line center.

Slafkovsky Suzuki Caufield
Demidov Bennett Laine
Newhook Dach Appleton
Anderson Evans Gallagher
Beck/Roy

Hutson Matheson
Guhle Carrier
Xhekaj Lindgren
Struble
Lindgren doesn't likely have a lot of runway left with the way he plays.

Mason Appleton is having a really nice year and he might cost more than 3 mill a year. I'd say he could get 4 if he hits the market.

Pionk is a good dman, but he might cost 7 mill and you can't have him, Carrier and Hutson on a dcore and expect to go far in the playoffs.

Ekblad just got suspended for PEDs. Not sure if that's just a mix up. Something be used had trace amounts of PEDs, or he actually used them. Have to imagine they don't look too closely at him.

Bennett they're Definitely going to look at and pursue hard imo. If it's a bidding war I can see the Habs stepping aside.

Gavirkov would be a real nice addition.

Here’s an idea — develop them to their fullest extent rather than give them away for little, assuming that’s what the market bears.

Might as well see what the Habs have on hand rather than see them bloom somewhere else. If one or both bust, so be it. They were drafted for a reason — one of them is likely to make it so why trade them for a subpar return? Plus, they are both centremen and that’s not a position Habs are deep in. Just stay the course.

Dont know if it has been discussed, but apparently Lafreniere didnt remove his helmet for the Americain national anthem vs Toronto at the Madison square garden. We dont know if it was intentional or not, but some Americains took note and shared their displeasure on the social networks.

To NY Rangers: Habs 2 first rounders in 2025 + something like Beck or Mailloux

To Habs: Lafreniere

Then you try Demidov down the middle at some point next season:

Slaf Suzuki Caufield

Lafreniere Demidov Laine

Dach Newhook Heineman

:naughty:

I'd be interested in the player, but not at anything close to what you're proposing...
