HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread 92 Waiting on the DRAFT Edition

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

He's neither the best or a centre, so they won't do it.
The point is if he was the best they could get. If he is not good at centre even if he plays there then there is no point. if he is on the wing because Carlsson and McTavish are the top 2 centres it doesn't mean he isn't a centre. And Anaheim's coach is a moron so there would be no way to know which of the 3 should be on the wing.

He's as much of a centre as Drouin was.

Because a lot of people here enjoy speculating sometimes.

What's the harm?
Would be amazing to have Crosby. Seems like the type of player who can perform at a high level into his early 40s. Mentorship value, through the roof.

I’m afraid the cost would be prohibitive but there’s only one way to find out.

He is the perfect choice **if** one believes that Michael Hage has a good shot at bring a 2C in 2027-2028 and onwards.

Crosby could have more good years left in him than Sam Bennett.

What if the solution as a 2nd center was Demidov himself. He has already stated that he would prefer to play center than on the wing.

Caufield-Suzuki-Slaf
Laine-Demidov- Armia/ Kapanen
-Gally-Newhook-Dach
Heineman-Evans-Anderson

Gonna have to accept playing the AHL if he wants to convert, or he'll have to stay in the KHL.

I doubt it happens anyhow.

Yup. And Drouin is actually better defensively and wasn't on a big time downward trajectory when we traded for him.

There is not a chance the Habs invest in Zegras as their much coveted #2 center.
Drouin was crap. Probably a lot of secondary assists. And he was not a centre. Zegras was doing alright until the injuries and then McTavish and Carlsson had his centre spot. And as I said it is hard to evaluate him now because Duck's coach is a complete waste. I would be more worried about character/attitude than ability though. Especially if the asking price was pretty cheap.
