We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.
What This Means for You:
- If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
- If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
- Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.
- Our 2025 light and dark themes were lost, so we are rebuilding them. Light theme is currently available, but work in progress

If the smoke around Dobson's name had any truth to it then it might be time to circle back to that idea. With Reinbacher apparently missing time with knee issues again it's starting to seem risky to project him as a core piece going forward.
If we could land a UFA center like Bennett this summer it'd be ideal. Then we'd still have all our assets available to swing for the fences on Dobson if he's truly available.

How interesting would it be to an UFA C to be told they will be playing with Slafkovsky and Demidov, for example?
Starting to really think that the solution at 2C will be a stop-gap, whether it is an UFa opt a cheaper veteran C in a trade.

I think the Islanders would also think, let's not get an injury prone player for Dobson, just rational thinking here
As for Bennett, love the player, but I think he's the type that 3 years from now, he'll slow down considerably and look like a bad deal
He'll get 7 years at 7-8.5M a year

I don't see MSL breaking up the top line. A) They're doing well. And B), Slaf's big body is exactly what Nick and Cole need.
I know about his season and about NHLe, which is why I know it's not great.
You're saying Kapanen will quadruple his production rate.
He has progressed this season, but he's not a new player.
I guess we'll see when he plays for Laval in the playoffs.

Some of these older 2C have NTC or NMC. Don’t know if we are on their no trade clause (B.Schenn would be a sick stop gap)
Yeah, when I was looking for trade targets a few weeks ago, i noticed all the vet 2Cs had NTC/NMC. Our best options are UFA or swinging a trade for a young 2C. This is why I really wanted Cozens at the TDL and why I want Bennett as UFA. 2C are really hard to get, and it seems most teams are looking for one.
