HF Habs: Trade Proposal Thread #91: 2025 Trade Deadline edition

  • Xenforo Cloud has upgraded us to version 2.3.6. Please report any issues you experience.
What's the point in trading him if that's all we get? Dvorak apparently likes it here and is very popular in the room. I'd rather just keep him.
'Cause we should get better? And when you say keep him...you mean...long term? Makes no sense to me. Just like Savard.

I get that he is not your favorite player (same for me and most fans), but he is helping.
He's a dime a dozen bottom 6 center tbh. He's playing almost 15 minutes a game and is on pace for 26 points which is pretty meh for this TOI since he got some TOI on the PP as well (30 sec a game). He's not hurting (outside of his salary) would be more accurate then helping. Now if he was physical or stronger on the forecheck or meaner then he would be a very useful player but he's too passive and easy to play against for that.

That's a fair assessment, but keep in mind big picture a guy who is used in a mostly defensive role who just goes out and is ok not really helping or hurting you is helping the team because defensive assignments are tough. Without Dvorak we probably are forced to overplay Suzuki in those defensive minutes which overall would hurt the team. Doing just ok in a defensive role is helping the team.

Keeping Dvorak is nothing but punishment for the players and fans though

What would be the point of trading Dvorak ?

The return would be meaningless
It changes the whole line-up as he's been playing pretty much all season long with Gallagher and Anderson.

No one is ready in Laval to take those minutes and bringing up anyone would weaken Laval, while not improving the Habs. Laval's winning season also deserve to be considered here.

Unless they make abother move to replace him, I just don't see the point.....and I hate Dvorak.
Kind of would say the same for Armia or Savard....

I'm well okay with the Habs doing nothing tomorrow

I wait until the summer.

I have no interest in reclamation , " change of scenery " Cs like Zegras, Cozens etc.

In the summer maybe we sign Duchene ( I would trade for him before July 1st ) which means we can wait on Hage and a C we may draft this year. If not, then maybe we have to trade Hage and / or our 1st (s) for a proven in his prime 2C.

No issue with Hughes trying with Dach, but too many misses with him, Barron and Newhook. Time to pay up for quality. But Duchene would buy us time for the prospects.

i'm not sure what will become available during the summer, but I get the feeling that it will be more of the same. I personnally dont see Duchene as a viable option.

It’s funny that 10ish years ago we were talking about acquiring Duchene and now we’re talking about it again

This is a pretty crap trade deadline. A second Rantanen trade is basically the only intriguing piece. Everyone else is staying put, Nelson's off market.
