I think Tampa might offer 2 x 2nd round picks for David Savard. He fits their style and he won a cup with them.
Also Tampa loves throwing picks around look at their past deadline trades, Tanner Jannot and Hagel.

I'd bet my left and right nut that Tampa wouldn't offer a 2nd, much less two of them for Savard or he'd already be gone.

Savard's play this year is a far cry from where it was when they first traded for him for a 1st and a 2nd.

Yeah I sure hope his veteran leadership had a big influence this season because they sure missed the boat in trading him at his peak value. I’m thinking he returns a 3rd or 4th max

I think Silayev is a top 6 defenseman but has 4-5 more years of development. He’s a projected to be a stay home like Johnathan Kovalcevic so don’t think he’s that highly. Also New Jersey has some other very good defensemen coming Hughes, Nemec, Casey to add with Hamilton, Pesce, Dillon, Kova, Steiger.

Also Evans would need to agree on extension. Jersey has been looking for a 3rd line center for a very long time. Evans fits the style of play for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised.
They didn’t draft him 10oa to trade him for Jake Evans ..

Quinton Byfield isn't a name we've heard come up in trade rumours until this week, but suddenly he could be in play. Perhaps he is the player Los Angeles can move to change their look for an opening playoff round.

If he’s available, we need to be on this big time

But it doesn’t seem like he is

We are on the hunt for a 2nd line center. I had hope Dach would be the guy but cant see the team starting next season with him at that position. With the cap increasing at the many picks we have , we sure do have the ammos to complete a trades or sign one of the big fish on the free agents market. Heres my top 5 in order of potential canditates based on incoming FA and selling teams at the deadline.

1. Dylan Cozens ( Not a favorite on the site but hes young, fit with the core. He has size and compete hard. Hes has already a 30 goals season under his belt. Right now hes disgruntled and I think a change of scenery will do him good. Plus I view his contract as a good thing he is signed long term and with cap climbing to a very fair deal for a 60 points second line center )

2. Ryan O'Reilly ( Preds will sell at the deadline. He has 2 seasons remaining on his contract which is good timing to see how our prospect develop. Good stop gap and a great leader veteran in the locker room)

3. John Tavares free agent ( If Toronto doesnt resign him we have the money to offer a short term contract and like Oreilly hes a good veteran and a stop gap to see how Hage will fit in the lineup)

4. Sam Bennett free agent ( The guy need no introduction , hes a best and compete hard. Hes not higher on my list because he never produces a lot of points in a season except this year just before he hit free agency. I feel he will be overpaid and with is style of play on a long term deal he could slow down or be often injured. But still he would quite an addition to the team )

5. Matt Duchene free agent ( Short terms contract. )

There 4 potential 2Cs we can target each with pros and cons:
EP40
Cozens
Stammer
Kadri
Stamkos was toast last year and Nashville was silly to offer him that contract. He basically just got points thanks to Kucherov on the PP. I wouldn’t want him on the Habs

Hagel has only gotten better.

No one is trading 2 2nds for Savard.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone doesn't even offer a 3rd for him
